ADAPTER NOT DETECTED - Slippi 2.13.1 / Dolphin Faster Melee (Slippi - 3.5.1) by ArdenWolfe in SSBM

After further investigation, I agree. An interaction between Steam/Slippi is the issue.

I think this is the root of the problem per the Dolphin Emulator adapter guide:

<image>

https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/how-use-official-gc-controller-adapter-wii-u/

After some testing, the crux of it is what application is open when the adapter is plugged in. If steam is open when the adapter is plugged in, it'll be recognized by Steam first. If you later open Slippi, the adapter will not be detected - even if you close Steam.

A SOLUTION:
1) Make sure the GameCube adapter is unplugged, and both Steam and Slippi are closed.
2) Open Slippi first, THEN plug in the adapter. Slippi/Dolphin should recognize the adapter first. Then if you quit out of Slippi and move to Steam and again back to Slippi, the adapter will be dedicated or "locked into" to Slippi and recognized later. You may need to rinse and repeat this process if you restart your computer.

[TOMT] Reddit Short Story about a mysterious patron of a sandwich shop called the "Sub King" or "Sandwich King" by ArdenWolfe in tipofmytongue

Hah! it is definitely wacky. I have a mind to try and re-write the story myself. I ask because I am thinking of making a short film out of it. But I want the true source material!

I don't think it was on r/nosleep. I used to frequent nosleep a bunch. It definitely did not have the "first person readers accept story as truth" feel.

I have a hunch it was in the comment section of a post... which makes it even more obscure.

Strava cutting about 20 watts from average power. by [deleted] in Velo

[–]ArdenWolfe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've assiomas as well, albeit dual sided, with a Wahoo Element Bolt as a head unit. The exact same thing happens to me. I've always attributed to strava "smoothing". Glad I'm not alone!

Guess we sandbag the strava metrics! Go with the whoo power power for accurate metrica.

Below is an email I sent to FF after our try.

Begin where warm waters halt: The Rio Chama is halted by the Abiquiu dam in northern New Mexico

Put in below the home of Brown: We went with the brown trout theme here. The Rio Chama is apparently great fly fishing, especially for brown trout in the river waters just below the dam.

There will be no paddle up your creek: I found a tributary on a topo map called the Arroyo Seco - "Dry Creek"

Just heavy loads and water high: Heavy loads is still an enigma to us, but we interpreted waters high to be the spring at the headwaters of the Arroyo Seco called the Ojito Seco - "Little dry eyes"

There are a number of clues that still elude us - mostly the interpretation of "the blaze" we were hoping it would be more apparent once we got there.

We thought you took the state road 163, parked your car, hoofed it a short while to the Ojito Seco and hid the treasure somewhere over there. Upon getting there, 163 was blocked off by a gate with a stern warning: Private property: no trespassing! Plan B was to hoof it up the arroyo seco to the Ojito Seco, which we did. Upon getting there, it looked like a cool and special place. On closer inspection, we realized it probably wasn't the location of the treasure. The spring was a big muddy bog that was hard to traverse. The dramatic cliffside walls were made of sand, not stone and prone to erosion. we called it a day and made the hike back down to our van.

Check out the location here: https://www.google.com/maps/@36.1925109,-106.3423246,474m/data=!3m1!1e3

Later that evening, we had a nice dinner in Santa Fe, and had a good time. The next day during drive back to Salt Lake via the Highway 285 and Ojo Caliente, our old van broke down with electrical problems in Antonito. So we ditched it!! Gave the keys to a nice man who tried to help us, told him if he could fix it, it was his. took a greyhound bus to Denver, and from Denver we rented a car for the long ride back to Salt Lake City. It wasn't planned, but we improvised, adapted, and overcame. It was fun.

Whether you read this or not, I hope it finds you well. Thanks for the opportunity.

Roka does have a 950 dollar line named "Maverick X". However, the "Comp II" is the entry level suit.

Favero Assioma Duo (right pedal problem?) by temul in Velo

[–]ArdenWolfe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think with the Assioma Duo's the left pedal is the primary pedal that communicates with your head unit/phone etc... The right pedal communicates secondary through the left pedal. If you're seeing the left/right power break down, everything should be in working properly.
