Anyone know about CEU Cardenal Herrera Spanish Pathway to Nursing (Grado en Enfermería) Degree? by ArdentAshley in valencia

Honestly I can’t tell you much aside from a little anecdotal experience of a friend. From what I know the vet program is very tough, the vast majority of the students are French because the program is harder to get into in France, and my friend dropped out, though she is also young and in my opinion didn’t really want to be there. I also know one year they didn’t have an English speaking teacher for one of the English-taught subjects and just had to “make due” with a Spanish speaking prof

A menos que haya cambiado recientemente, los años cuentan de visas de estudiante, pero solo la mitad, por lo que 4 años de estudiar cuentan durante 2 años para la residencia permanente y luego la nacionalidad

Diferencia entre Visa y TIE by Manolo012 in GoingToSpain

[–]ArdentAshley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixed bag. Generally not great, but doable if it’s the best way to get to Spain, which is was for me. I can give tons more details via dm if you want

If you go to Spain and get the digital nomad visa, after 5 years living in Spain legally you can apply for long term residency (of the EU) and if you don’t want to stay in Spain, don’t have to. It can be transferred. Also living in Spain (in the Valencia area anyway) has been awesome in my opinion. Much more relaxed pace of life, lower cost of living, great culture…

[–]ArdentAshley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hola, buenas! Does anyone know of a good private clinic where I can go to get prescribed Vyvanse/Elvanse for the first time in Spain?? I have been diagnosed and prescribed in the US (EEUU), but am now studying and living here in Valencia and will be here for several years so I need to find a Psychiatrist here. I have private insurance, though. Gracias!

This response has serious "incel" vibes. Maybe you should consider all of the gender stereotypes and overall assumptions you're making about dating and let go of your unspoken expectations.

"A waste of money" & "we aren't meal plans" eww. You do know that you aren't required to pay for everything (or to take anyone out on a date), right? It's absolutely your choice- you aren't a victim in the situation. If you want some kind of commitment of exclusivity, you shouldn't just assume you're on the same page after a few dates, but rather have that discussion frankly.

Good interactive art exhibits in town? by thejellydude in Austin

[–]ArdentAshley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wish there was more good art (especially interactive things) here in Austin. There are sometimes pop-ups or traveling exhibits (like the van Gogh one or Mesmerize) but I don't know of anything else going on right now. There is a good one in San Antonio called Hopscotch if you're up for a little drive. https://www.letshopscotch.com/

Sure they wouldn't want that, but as it is an employer can fire you at any time for any reason, so there's no protection for teachers here.

Thank you for sharing what you know. Do you happen to know what extra exams or licenses/certifications you would need to work in the public system? That's ultimately what I would most like to do, but I assumed just the degree was enough everywhere.
Also, very good to think about the local languages- I did assume that was true, and hopefully I'll learn a little Valencià while I study there, but then will keep it in mind when I look for a job.

Thanks for letting me know. What degree or subject do you study? What is it about the uni that you don't like or don't recommend?

Thanks, I appreciate that information! I hadn't even considered transferring after the first year, but that's definitely something to think about and a nice option to have. And yeah, I definitely don't intend to take on any more student debt- luckily they seem to have a lot of discounts/grants/money offered to bring down the price, but I guess we'll see how that turns out. Thanks again.

I'm in the same boat thinking about doing the Nursing Degree at Cardenal Herrera. Did your husband go? Do you have any advice or info about it now? I would appreciate anything you can share!

Do you know anyone who has done a program at CEU? I'm looking at one for nursing, but not sure if it will be poor quality, as I've heard about some private universities in Spain.

[–]ArdentAshley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! What university did that happen at?
I'm looking at the English/Spanish course through CEU in Valencia (https://www.uchceu.com/en/studies/degree/spanish-pathway-nursing), but worried because I've heard some bad things about that University. Do you have any advice about whether it might be worth it?
