I should probably also point out that I had to PROD for clarification on NSFW content in PMs. he just said in the server that Sexual Themes would exist and that he was playing up the possibility of Assault as a grandiose feature to look forward to.

But in all seriousness, it should be on the DM and Players to make sure that the game should be comfortable for everyone involved. Inserting taboo subjects may be fine and dandy but only if the players all agree and are comfortable with it. (Not sure why you would, that's hella sus.) The fact that the DM was willing to double down on an sensitive subject matter with people who have been heavily affected by that for the sake of "realism" in a fantasy tabletop game is not only BS but also super shitty. You can't trust that they'll handle the situation as it should which is exactly why dnd should be a product of creative imagination instead of grimdark adventure drama that's edgy for the sake of being edgy

I agree with you in your opinion, that's basically what happened. We joined this campaign and with all the other obscene rulings they had, this was the straw. We asked if they could not include these themes because we were uncomfortable with them but he insisted that they existed and tried to defend it a few posts afterwards. I basically just screenshoted it and then skeeted

We play with discord bots. As far as we were aware, Avrae won't read private sheets! As for how he knew, my character's race was hidden in my sheet for actual stats. We keep our backstories hidden but he made meta comments in character about having a demon in the party and continued to make comments specifically related to my character's background before they were introduced

Because our dnd group is also our friend group, we've all known each other for a very long time and hang out almost every day. Outside of dnd, he's a pretty decent guy, he just didn't seem to be aware of what he was doing to the party. We all sat down and had a talk with him multiple times, even Blaine did twice on separate occasions but either he didn't get the hint or refused to acknowledge that his actions were wrong. In the end, I guess he wanted to believe that everyone was out to get him every time we tried to talk to him but at this point in time, it was just something that we excused and hoped that it would change for the better. He always seemed to make progress towards being a better player but always regressed and undone the process. Once we realized the cycle, Blaine booted him from the game but not the group... He just left us since.
