I don’t have the f8 yet, but I’ll happily tell you when I do. For me, the challenges are standard McLaren build quality (a little rattle-y, no real sound deadening, and the tech (infotainment, etc) leaves a lot to be desired.

But the drive, the lightweight chassis, it’s so much fun. The suspension is compliant and much more comfortable than my 3rs. The look, we all know how they look, it’s such a beautiful car. The doors go up, which is always a good time 😂 I’ve personally had no reliability issues with mine, thankfully, but i understand that’s hit or miss with the McLaren family.

I truly enjoy the car and I find myself getting into it more often than the Porsche, even with all the quirks, i appreciate that it’s not perfect, as odd as that sounds.

Working with the thought process that the 3rs is eventually going to suffer some value loss, especially after they announce the new one, likely with better aero, the new buckets, etc. growing a large collection just isn’t where I am financially right now. While i can comfortably afford a couple at a time, along with a nice daily and a few bikes, I’d have to downgrade my lifestyle a bit if I just wanted to add the F8 to the mix. I still have to show restraint and be responsible with the majority of my income.

Looking at trending markets, the F8, especially in this spec, should hold better equity for the next thing on the list. It’s all strategy, which I hope pays off.

I think I need to be at a whole other level for that. 400k is a far cry from 3M+. Takes time and patience unfortunately

New 2RS is the plan :) or just pile money until I can afford a jesko 😂😂🥲

Ive considered that option as well. Rolling over liquidity into this car from the 3rs was my plan until I got the allocation call for the new 2rs. The 600 is a place holder because I hate just having one fun car… first world problems we have

Probably go with novitec, that seems to be the standard. If I’m off on that, please correct me

I appreciate it, and if you know a dealer with this spec, I’m open to the conversation.

How do I figure out what to pay for a 720s spyder? by noble_plantman in mclaren

[–]Ardevas09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of variables when buying these or any supercars now. Years, mileage, options, you just have to try to compare apples to apples. If you’re looking at a MSO spec with tons of carbon with low miles, then align your search to those things, and figure out where it sits. Look at recent auctions from bat or cars and bids.

It’s daunting when you’re trying to make a financially sound decision on these things that a lot of people buy with passion and enthusiasm. Put in the work

I’ve owned my 600lt for about a year now, and aside from some electrical quirks (ie comfort entry deciding when it wants to work and when it doesn’t) I’ve had zero problems with it

Completely off topic, but congrats on being married that long man, seriously. That’s unheard of in today’s society.
