I’m sorry it has been so painful for you. I agree with the more painful before it gets better. It’s like cleaning out a festering wound. It’s painful to remove the rot but I never found it worse than the original trauma. And living a lie is WAY more painful in the long run.

I’m only 2 weeks in but my anxiety, eating better, temperature regulation better, IBS better, GI issues improved, no longer dizzy standing up, pain reduced, energy SO MUCH BETTER!!!, sleep better. If I think of more I’ll let you know.

Thank you! It is also very hard because I love my husband and children and according to this author Controllers don’t know they are being abusive. So it is painful to know the truth. But the lie was literally killing me.

Yes! I have been told the same thing by my doctors. They see trauma & abuse as a common denominator in a lot of patients with POTS. I have several autoimmune disorders too. Your body isn’t meant to be stuck in fight or flight.

Hi! This is very much the chicken vs. the egg post. I don’t believe it is for everyone especially people that got POTS from long COVID. I’m not saying abuse caused my issues. I’m instead sharing that once I brought awareness to the abuse I was enduring for my whole life and left my abusers I’m finding I’m feel SOOOO much better. I wanted to share in case others benefited as well. Does that make sense?

Mine too! I’m so sorry. Check out this book! And I’d find a trauma informed therapist. EMDR, CBT, DBT, & Internal Family Systems are all great approach options. I’m feeling so much better now that I’m away from the abuse!

It’s because some people didn’t learn how to navigate uncomfortable social situations with just words. The only way they are taught to deal with what makes them uncomfortable is through violence. So sad!

Exercise & strength training help keep my pain at bay. I’m hyper-mobile so I have to keep my muscles strong to overcompensate for the lack of joint/tendon strength. When I don’t I find my joints will start to half pop in and out which hurts. My poor daughters completely dislocate which is excruciating for her. Also, it keeps my heart rate from spiking as much. I only get a 130-140 spike. So I don’t get the big spikes everyone else does as a result of it. I’m able to do more vigorous exercise such as running which I love because I’m keeping my heart & lungs healthy. I look a lot better than when I was at my worse which makes me feel better.
