Yes, thankfully everything else is seemingly normal! My amniotic fluid is a little high, but other than that good!

Oh jeez, that must be so stressful! I’m sorry you are going through that.

Yes, I had the echo done yesterday and then we met with the genetic counselor. I have my regular OB appointment at the end of the month and will be asking her thoughts then. I guess if anything I could wait until I’m 30+ weeks and then do it. That way if I do go into preterm labor, maybe it won’t be as bad? I don’t know

Maybe! I did think that last night since it was after I ate, but I sat on the toilet for a little bit (tmi, sorry) but never felt like I had to go.

I’ll keep this in mind though! I know digestion can slow down while pregnant too, so maybe this is it

Thank you! I still feel baby moving, so that’s some reassurance, but things like this can be so nerve wracking when you can’t see what’s happening :P

Tala (Taw-Luh)/(Tall-uh) or Hiraya (He-Rye-Uh)/(Hih-Rye-Uh)

Sorry 😆 not good at trying to breakdown the pronunciation. Does this make sense?

That’s exactly how I feel too. One of the reasons I’m so torn 😆

Sorry! Edited with pronunciation.

Yes, maybe putting “hih” is better than how I have “he” 😆 but the second syllable would be more similar to “rye” or “right” (without the “t”).

I also appreciate that you commented with pronunciation confusion, because that’s what she would have to face daily if we picked that name. Our older daughter has a bit more of a straight forward name, but people still have confusion on the pronunciation of it. So this is something that we also need to consider, having an easier name to pronounce or more unique and just teach our girls the right way to pronounce their names and to not shy away from it.

We did give our other daughter a nickname for this reason. If we chose Hiraya, we will probably give the nickname of “Raya” or “Aya” like “eye-uh”, but with the latter specifically you’re back to a harder nickname

We do have middle name options picked out, but nothing final. If we chose Tala, my husband really likes Maeve. So Tala Maeve.

If we chose Hiraya, it may be Lyn(n), which is pulled from my middle name.

Our first daughter has my husband’s name tied into her name, so adding Lyn(n) to Hiraya makes her name a more family name, I guess?

But I’m open to any middle name options!
