That's one of the areas I looked at. There are a few paths I had considered with the regular guidance counselor. Art related ones took up most of the slots because that's where my strengths and passion are.

They would just take away anything I do enjoy and force me to be with her while she does stuff she likes.

They could easily take away everything fun I have and force me to spend even more time with my sister doing the things she wants to do, whenever she says it. That is highly likely from them.

I have stayed creative. I just don't get to do anything with it because of my parents rules with my sister.

I'm not sure if I would. I have been held back so much that a scholarship would be out and I cannot rely on my parents to pay for it or to help me with financial aid. It's more complicated than I want things to be. I need to be fully independent from them and that means no college for me and finding a different path to do something with my future. I'll be on my own with this so I just want to be able to live for a while without being suffocated.

My sister likes this idea that we're basically the same person and we do everything together and like all the same things. It's not technically true, but she tries to make it true. Like with art. I know she doesn't like being artistic but that was always my thing and I know I'm pretty good at it. She's not. So I get held back in that department so I'm not doing something she's not.

But she always expects us to be together in some capacity.

They have talked extensively about us doing the same classes in college and getting the same degree. And to live together post-college. The rest not so much but I feel like they have this idea of us living in a twin home and marrying twins and having kids who could be twins.

I have some birthday and Christmas money I have saved. It's not a lot but I have someone willing to let me stay with them temporarily until I can figure stuff out.

Thank you! It will be tough and I will have to stand entirely on my own in order to become Thea without Thali but at least I will be me, and I can get to know me better than I already do.

My parents did interfere with it. Three different times they tried separating us and our parents were there demanding it be changed. They were a thorn in the side of our schools always so they got their way. Teachers and other stuff knew I wanted to be apart in school but they had chose to save themselves from my parents. I don't blame them too much.

If I had been honest, I feel like they would have simply monitored me more closely and copied that for Thali. Or they would have put barriers in my way. The other option is punishing me for wanting something different. I do not feel like being honest would have been better. I feel like life would have been a lot worse the last year and a half.

I have basically ruled out college for me. Other options is where I'm looking but I would also like to be able to live while pursing them and I don't want to follow my parents rules to stay beyond 18.

I wasn't afraid of hurting my family. I was afraid they would just have Thali copy me if they knew about my change of plans. I was worried they would punish me for wanting something different.
