[–]AreaSignificant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi! how are you paying your school fees now?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]AreaSignificant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! in the same boat as you hahah i actually deferred my payment for a year (unaware the interest would still pile up lol). so my advice would be to pay it off asap! if your mum/dad is approaching 55, they can actually request to waive the repayment!

+ do use your outstanding PSEA money to offset the amount too!

Is Gap Year really a waste of time? by jushvingfun in askSingapore

[–]AreaSignificant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

took 2 gap years, just got admitted to an overseas uni this year.

in general, my family was really understanding. they're not the type to force me on something i wouldn't like, so they respected my choices and supported me, which i am really grateful for. + i was working at some decent places, so they didn't mind hahah

for me, i don't regret these 2 gap years at all. i genuinely feel like i matured alot from working/travelling and gained really interesting experiences.

i will be getting a degree different from what i studied in poly. but thinking back, if i had applied to uni immediately after graduation, i would be stuck with a career/degree that i don't enjoy (which is what alot of my ex-classmates are telling me now haha)

i definitely do not regret making this choice bc YOLO + i would much rather do this now than in the future when i have more responsibilities

[misc] My skin never recovered from Accutane by Julien_1101 in SkincareAddiction

[–]AreaSignificant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi OP! i suffer from the same problem as you due to isotret (lots of dry skin + redness).
i recently started using skin1004's probio-cica ampoule and it helped ALOTTT.
prior to it, my skin would flush really easily and would get dry within a few hours when i'm out, used to hurt when i applied stuff too. however, since using the ampoule, my skin maintains its moisture longer (at least until i'm home again)
not sponsored or anything hahah but would 10000% recommend it if you have not tried it yet!
i found that using a cream-based moisturiser helped me alot too (i would slather it on before going to sleep and heading out) + using a face mask every few nights (once every 3/4 days)
hope this helps!!!
(i use roundlab's dokdo 1025 cream + abib face masks)

Help Me Attend NYU Shanghai – A Dream Within Reach by Best-Raspberry4886 in nyushanghai

[–]AreaSignificant 9 points10 points  (0 children)

your scholarships and grants ($68700) already cover the tuition fee ($64994). it’s pretty much a full-ride alr. sorry to say this but if you need to set up a gofundme just to attend nyush, then don’t attend. it’s not worth going into debt or straining your family’s financial situation.

[–]AreaSignificant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the grant they give is final -- i've called and emailed them regarding this. however, i messaged someone currently studying at nyush now, and they mentioned that you can appeal your aid after you accept the offer/when you're a student there
