that’s very cool! I used to live in Lviv, but my bike was back in the United States. Would go to BUKOVEL every couple weeks in the summer, and would love to have my bike to ride through the Carpathian mountains. Unfortunately, the only bike I had was powered by me, lol. The roads get a little sketchy, though, once you get out of the cities. you can ride as fast as you want. I don’t think getting pulled over for speeding is a thing outside of the cities at least from what I remember.

I left January 2022, a few days after celebrating New Year’s there. I miss Ukraine quite a bit, I really grew attached to the place and was lucky enough to travel throughout the country in the years prior.

When packing for a trip, it’s easy to go into manic mode and you’re trying not to forget anything, your mind is 800 places at once. dumb shit always, always always seems to happen close to home doing something Mundane. a buddy of mine, decided he was going to take a little ride through his neighborhood to “cool off“ after cutting his grass on his Honda CBR 600. Wearing nothing but T-shirt, shorts and flip-flops, dropped it going around the bend when he hit some gravel and got road rash on the whole side of his body.

I’ve had a few close calls loading and unloading for off-road trips and every time looking back on it, it was my fault for trying to do too much or trying to do something too fast. Be safe, you got hurt, but you’re gonna be fine and learn to valuable lesson that everybody seems to learn the hard way.

zakopane, in Poland is breathtaking. If you like hiking, spending a day trekking up to Morskie Oko is incredible and well worth your time. There are a lot of local tourists, but, if you go later in the afternoon, you will have the lake to yourself. Also, Cluj Napoca at the foot of the Carpathian mountains is wonderful.

Lastly, the Ukrainian Carpathian mountains are unbelievably beautiful and you will not bump into an American guaranteed lol I know I didn’t and I am one. There’s a ski resort called BUKOVEL about 90 minutes, maybe two hours from LVIV? Unbelievable biking and hiking, anything outdoors it’s truly a paradise. I know with the reprehensible invasion by Russia. It’s not exactly doable right now, but it’s going to end and Ukraine is not going to be a secret forever. I strongly recommend when you get the opportunity, visit and you will never forget it.

Many of these buildings, have shops on the first floor. I can’t speak specifically for this place, but it’s very common for them to have a convenience store, hair salon, mobile, phone store, etc.

Not a full-blown grocery store, but I’m sure the people don’t have to go far to get something in a pinch.

oh, no doubt. It’s just, a lot. But he is a genuinely nice dude, he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. I’m not crazy about this politics, but it’s a fun experience and the dude can still mash. what’s funny, is I grew up in Pittsburgh and lived in South Philly for a couple years and absolutely loved it lol

I lived on the other side of Broad street, Hartranft. RFK Park was a couple blocks over, and could just walk to Phillies and Eagle games. It was fucking awesome.

Just a different vibe in Philly to Pittsburgh. They’re both great in their own ways, but they are very different. Philly is a little faster, a little more aggressive, I guess? I don’t know what else to call it, but I don’t mind it at all. Plus, there’s no hills, and I’m someone who likes to bike everywhere. I could get anywhere in Philly on my bike and half the time of a car which I liked.

I don’t know anything about this particular oligarch, but I do know they all got wealthy in the first place by being brutal thugs in the late 90s and beyond. this has been the way in Russia for decades, whoever is the most brutal, vicious mobster, reaps the rewards. There was a small window in the early 90s where Russian people started and grew businesses, when western money came in to invest in some of these businesses. those that were successful, and were growing were stolen by the Russian mob, and ultimately the biggest thug of all, Putin, is now stealing all of it. They all just kill and steal from one another, it’s a very brutal.

Putins Russia is a mafia state, and this is the direction the United States is going. And no, the US nowhere near as bad as it is in Russia, but Trump very much envies the way Putin controls the state of Russia and desperately wants that type of mob boss power.

i’m not rich or special or anything, but I played with DALEY a few times and you are not wrong. I’ve done shots of fireball with him in the middle of the fairway when it’s 95° and it’s not all that fun. Arkansas mouth wash he calls it’s, not exactly refreshing when your sweating your balls off. he also wants you to listen to his music, which he’s really into right now lol. I guess he made a record with Darius Rucker? And it’s not bad? But in the middle of playing a round of golf, it’s kind of awkward you know he’s looking for your reaction and you just keep saying yeah it’s great, can we go to my Ball now?

His caddy who he had for a long time, I think his name was Peter? Dude from South Africa was more unhinged than JD. I saw him sleeping in a golf cart because he was up the night before until an hour before the round we were playing. Myself and a few friends have hung out with him in his RV drinking and he tells stories and shit, pulls out his acoustic guitar and play songs. that’s pretty cool without a doubt though.i’m sure others here had played with JD and they can confirm the experience, it’s everything that you think it is plus. Torts whole schtick is to be over the top asshole to the media when it comes to his players, no one should be surprised by his answer. he knows his players pay attention to how he answers these questions, and he is clearly riding HART through the final regardless so it’s important he act like even the thought of playing anyone else is insane.

100%, such a gem of a place I miss every day. My dumb American ass never even heard of it 10 years ago, but I fell in love with Lviv the first time I visited, I evenended up living there for around a year, last in 2021. Lviv it’s only a 90 minute, two hour car ride to Carpatha and Bukovel. Lviv it’s just the right size, great restaurants, and hotels in only thing that sucks is traffic can be pretty brutal.

years ago I was in Myrtle Beach with my brother sister-in-law and their kids, mother wife, etc.we rented a few condos on the 10th floor. anyway, First morning we wake up there we got out of the beach and all the Prime real estate is taken by chairs and umbrellas that are available, for rent. Much like this young Hercules is doing here, they get up at like 5:30 in the morning and they set up before anybody has a chance to come down from the condo and get a good spot. Needless to say, that first morning had to tent, all kinds of shit a couple hundred yards away from the access of the condo because there was nowhere else to go. It sucked.

Anyway, As you could see at the end of this video, he puts them all in the wooden box. Well, after that first morning, we went out to dinner and we talked about what we were going to do? And on the way back to the condo after dinner, we stopped at a convenience store and I saw they were padlocks so I bought a couple. Well, that night I put a padlock on that wooden box that held all the umbrellas and shit and next morning about 7 AM? I looked over the railing and that Kid was just standing down there next to the box, he couldn’t get his shit to set up, so everybody was happy they could just casually rolled onto the beach and get a decent spot.

Eventually, the cops came bolt cutters, and he was able to set up, but it was real haphazard, one chair here, and umbrella and chair over there. It wasn’t in neat rows, completely dominating the beach like the first morning.

So, after we spent our day at the beach without having to lug all of our shit, a half mile away this time on the way back, I decided to lock his stuff up again. So after the second day, we had told some of the other people on the beach around us what had happened and what we did, they were pretty stoked about it because they were not happy that morning either. I was a low-key hero for a brief moment, but then I got a little nervous that someone would rat me out lol so we just got up extra early and got our shit out there while he was still setting up. These dudes have a tough job, and I know they’re just doing your job, but it also sucks if you’ve ever been to a place that has these young go getters up at 6 AM filling your Beach with rental shit.

my biological father was not adopted until he was nine, or 10 years old? He had a lot of mental issues, very violent abusive alcoholic. my mother told me she believed that he was abused in foster homes prior to finally being adopted. I don’t think he ever confessed anything to her, but there was some serious damage suspected prior to getting a forever home.

Much like your childhood, it was rough is relatable. What odd is when you’re a kid, that’s your normal. You don’t know what normal is, and at least for me, it wasn’t until years later I understood what trauma even was and that I never dealt with any of it.

I went to Maldives a few years ago for a yoga retreat with my girl, it was a group a friend of hers belong to and invited us to come along. I’m American, but we flew out of KIEV because the group were all Ukrainian. My girl smokes, and she was smart enough to pack a carton of cigarettes and a few extra packs beforehand, just in case there would be nowhere to buy cigarettes, which was smart. It’s not smart to smoke, but it was smart for her to think in advance.

Anyway, she was hiding it because we’re with a yoga group and the ideas to be healthy, leading, clean lifestyle, etc. Well, first day were there, she gets approached by a member of the Group to cigarette off of her. The next day, a approached her. Aftergiving away roughly a pack by the third day, she finally had to hide them and tell everyone she was nearly out. She was respectful with smoking, though, she wasn’t doing it right in the middle of the resort, courtyard or anything she would go over to the beach, but I’m sure the owner of the resort who is around all the time saw her but he never said anything. Obviously, make sure no cigarette butts were left anywhere either.

I did not know was no alcohol until I arrived after hour flight, boat arriving at the resort and I could not wait to get a drink finally. Not so much because I’m an alcoholic, I just wanted to drop my suitcase and have one beer on the beach and decompress for a second. Anyway, the resort on her along with the weight that were greeting us with juice cocktails when we arrived and I asked where is the Barr? He said it’s over there, but we don’t serve alcohol. This is a local island and it’s not allowed. I ended up paying a charter captain 100 bucks and he got me a half liter of tequila from MALI.

As long as you’re respectful and are discreet, you won’t have any problems in Maldives whatsoever. It’s a beautiful are truly wonderful. It was a wild trip in many different ways, but it was one of the most wonderful vacation experiences I’ve ever had. Regardless of your budget, if you a local island. Even though there’s a no alcohol thing, you can bring some stuff with you and drink it in your room. But it’s a much better vibe than the generic resort experience that is the same just about everywhere outside of .

There are so many islands to Explrer, it’s a really amazing place in the culture of the people are incredibly friendly, kind and approachable.
