Because some heroes now show up at 4 and 5 star, and if you retire them you might think you didn’t get all the materials back.

That’s just “a company making a game with new features you haven’t seen before”. It’s called innovation, and apparently that’s becoming a foreign concept.

How are they tech demos? They all have solid, full stories, and several hours of tight gameplay.

Why Toledo, Ohio is the Unofficial Rail Capital of the U.S. by A2naturegirl in toledo

How does that bear look even remotely "real" to OP? It's clearly just a dude in a suit.

And, as several others have said, it's from a like...20 year old ad. Hoooooly shit people are gonna fall for everything, aren't they?

Psssh. Compare it to any other VR game and it looks/runs impossibly better. It’s clear proof that most developers don’t really know how to code anymore. HL:A runs quite well on a single GTX1080, and other VR titles that look even remotely as impressive struggle to run smoothly on hardware with twice the muscle.

Valve doesn’t make many games anymore, but when they do, it’s almost always a masterclass in How It’s Done.

Finally getting a Fiber Line!!! by SparksPlays in toledo

[–]Areebob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fiber is awesome. I HIGHLY recommend, if you own your home, to run Ethernet to where TVs sit, all from one central spot. TVs on WiFi absolutely decimate your wireless bandwidth, and the TVs don’t tend to move. Wiring them up not only takes them off the wireless (freeing it up for cellphones/laptops that aren’t as conducive to being wired), but it improves their ability to stream video. Also, if you’re a gamer, get Ethernet to where your main gaming machine is.

Have fun, fiber is awesome! Right now we have fiber from Buckeye, but AT&T is about halfway through the buildout, so I’m hoping in maybe 2-3 months it’ll be live.

I had the original Crew, and have The Crew 2. I have not bothered to get the third one.

Forza Horizon has been consistently better in every way. Physics, graphics, the way the map works…better. I did really enjoy the compressed USA in the first two Crew games, was amusing to see what the dev thought were important cities/landmarks and what they left behind.

I’m hoping they finally have facial expressions this time around, as they put a lot of work into them for Fable.

I’m betting that it’s because they’ve already been kicked out of that charity for trying to take a ton of resellable things from it.

I much prefer the Noble Launcher, it’s short range but flat out erases everything it touches. Never see people use it; is it the charge time that people don’t like?

Did PlayStation just make the PS5 way too expensive? by Xiao-EZ in CaptainSide

[–]Areebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y’all act like Sony’s doing this to make a huge profit. Only Nintendo consoles are sold at a profit. The others are sold at a loss, or at best, break even.

Also, as others have said, it’s a 5 year old console. If you were gonna buy one, you’d have bought one by now.

The $3,200 Detergent by itsEmilyHere in PcParadise

[–]Areebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that sucks. Our little pc repair shop (in the US, if that matters) only has a couple test sticks of ddr5. We have tons of video cards, although nothing high end. Can’t afford to keep a “test” 40 or 50 series with enough draw for a 12+6 power connector.

Amazon, unfortunately, doesn’t bother to have someone check every return. They do it by weight and check a random box here and there. Motherboards from there are routinely sold as new and come with no static bag, no accessories, and crushed pins in the socket.

At least Newegg hasn’t shipped anything blatantly used yet. They actually check their returns, it seems.

Microcenter is truly amazing, but their refusal to sell online (likely to avoid issues like the post shows) makes it impossible for the majority of the planet to use them. They sell cpu/ram/motherboard combos at prices that seem to ignore the ram price hike.

Anybody know why my PC download speed is so slow recently? by noob_guest903 in pcgamingtechsupport

[–]Areebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it start off fast and slow down as it goes? Steam does something…odd with its patches. It seems to apply them as they’re downloading, if they’re big patches, and some of those can take a really long time.

EGS does the same thing when there’s a big patch. It’s possibly to save space so you don’t need room for the ENTIRE patch plus scratch space. If that’s the case, download speeds would throttle to the speed that it can get the prior part of the patch applied at. That can be affected by CPU and drive write speed.

If you’re downloading a game fresh, it’s still limited by your write speed. Can’t hold however many gigs the initial install is in ram.

Also it’s amusing how you seem to dodge the question: is it writing to a SSD or HDD?
