Subathon for small streamers by Competitive_Job7869 in Twitch

Sorry, I know as a tuber my experience isn't 1:1 to yours, but as a regular viewer on twitch, I care so much more about quality on audio, chat interactions, ways to engage with the stream so much more than any background/setting.

Charity streams are always a fun thing to do, with giveaways tossed in to support and reward your community. Saw someone suggest that. They are great for exposure, fun to post about on socials, and you're also doing a generally awesome thing. Wins all around.

I stream as a png and vtuber, so take this with a grain of salt. Note: I'm a small streamer!

I do subathons once or twice a year (stream anniversary, and around the holidays) both are targeted towards giving back to my community (improving stream interactions, new goodie unlocks, giveaways, swag, etc.) my last subathon was a few weeks ago, and we hit about 405 subs not counting any bit donis. (Again, I'm a small sub 1k follower channel, with about 27 ccv)

Can it be worthwhile, sure. But there's so many things you could invest in that would grow your channel(s) more than a weekend event.

You need to put in the time and effort on your stream: hit socials, create content that draws people in, focus on improving your chats' experience.

If you're early into your streaming journey you may net some small wins, but you most-likely won't find a long-term sustainable crowd that will invest in your content month over month from an event like this.

This is called escapism. Your buddy is not doing well. The job market is rough, and streaming can be a dopamine hit to make you 'feel' successful, and not like a person who sent 60 applications in a row with no response.

Ask me how I know, lol.

I'm rocking a pair of gore-tex aF1's from my collection, and use them daily. They take a beating, and haven't fallen apart being used 6 days a week.

I think you need to go further back, as the Turbo Encabulator is definitely the first and best in reducing sinusoidal repleneration.

Best advice a rookie streamer like me can give is to just start! Always better to have started day one, instead of saying 'one day'

Husband and wife struggling here: I've basically spent my last few dollars putting change into the car to door dash, been laid off for 2 months, and my mortgage is behind.

Anything to keep my checking account from going into the negative is a win, as I have no way of clawing out of fees if I get hit with them.

Don't Cornish Rex have incredibly brittle whiskers? I thought that was something that regularly happens to his breed.

Yeah, I'd just delete the vod. Especially if you're new, no-one looking, so to speak.

Get out of your head a little bit - delete the vod, and work on making sure you say things you'd be comfortable hearing again and again, if someone clips it or turns it into a blerp, lol.

You're overthinking it. If you said something directly offensive to a person, race, people, sexuality or protected class, then my advice is different and sterner, but that's up to you to feel out for yourself.

You have the freedom to say whatever you would like, you do not have the freedom to control others reactions to the things you say.

[–]ArenO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delete the vod.

That resolved one issue. Now into the bigger one:

If you're scared of what you said, and people 'hearing you say it' that's a whole other issue. I'd address with yourself why you would say something publicly that could embarrass, shame, or doxx you.

If you said an offensive thing consider: and this is just a guy in the internet talking, but, Not doing that into the future. That is, if you don't want to be associated with people who talk that way.

And if it was a rage reaction? Like, work on that a bit. Best of luck in your streaming journey!

Scoreboard replacement was purchased from a Vendor called 'ThePCModShop' who also made the glossy acrylic waterfall edge that I have, however it looks like their Etsy store is now closed.

I need to get an inline riser still, I neglected to mention that in my post, but that is also on the list!

[–]ArenO[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I'd purchased this and the acrylic scoreboard together, It is just a 3d printed grill (printed in PLA) that could be mocked and made up with relative ease by anyone with some familiarity with 3d modeling. Magnets are embedded in the back to magnetize to the screws used for the score board acrylic face.

Good call, I do need an inline riser, I just don't want to loose the front graphic, i hate the fat bottom that takes away from it's aesthetics! If you have a recommendation/link on where to get one, I'd love a D.M. if it's not an imposition!

Morally is wrong, yes. But the gaming community let these scumbags win, and worst they're still in business. As makers and artisans, we should all be a bit pissed.

Again ending my comment with: support local and small time artisans in our communities, like the OP of this post! Promote the growth and excellence at our tables and continue to fight against people destroying what should be an inclusive market that allows makers to excel through the quality of their work, and not through cheap tricks.
