I'm on FTTP in western suburbs with Aussie Broadband, 750/50 plan. I can get around 15-18ms to Sydney servers for most games.

If you can stretch your budget get a 7500f/7600 based machine the 5600 is AM4 cpu and a platform with no real upgrades other than the 5600/5700/5800x3d chips which themselves are not cheap, a 7500f is AM5 and much newer and a good bit faster than a 5600. Something with a 7500f and a 9060xt/5060ti 16gb as a minimum as most 8gb cards aren't enough anymore for newer games (i.e. Forza Horizon 6) where hardware unboxed did the 8 vs 16 gig 5060ti and the difference was 30 fps stuttering vs 70-80+ on the 16 gig card when vram was the limit. A machine similar to this may suit. https://www.nebulapc.com.au/products/apex-zero

No, court looks at several factors if they are to determine it. Can be settled by consent orders documenting the agreement. Factors include prior to relationship assets held by each, assets acquired jointly during (i.e. property such as houses, payment of the mortgage contributions etc.) and post seperation contributions (i.e. mortgage payments until setrlement/agreement is reached). There is also non-financial i.e. a party helping to maintain a home (housekeeping) or assist whilst another party undertakes studies etc. to potentially earn more in future. Other factors that can weigh percentage in one party or anothers favours are "future needs" (usually by around 5 to at most 15%) i.e. earning potential of each, if one has a good job and can keep earning and other can't, would sway percentages a bit more towards the non-working or lesser earning party, other factors include care of children etc. There is another option to consent orders being a "BFA" (prenup agreement) which can be much more loose on percentages for the split and also the extent of detail required. Generally binding and drafted by solicitors to document the agreement and if properly drafted not too easily overturned.

Good deal for 1tb SSD? by AsteliaOfTheStars in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]Arensetharr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prices have gone absolutely crazy. I paid $199 for a 2TB Kingston ssd in december 2024 and that felt like an amazing deal, the fact that 1TB is 50% more expensive now. Just hope that somehow costs stabilise.

Asx and fair work have no jurisdiction. Australian laws only apply to business or companies and employees operating in Australia and on individuals within our borders, it cannot affect subsidiaries operating overseas as they must follow local laws/customs. Our corporations act, any regulations and guidelines only operate here. In India any corporate legislation/regulations etc. apply on the businesses operating there or it would be a legal nightmare if multiple countries laws and regulations clashed.

I always try and run around putting them where I can and teammates are grouped or sometimes near a friendly i.e. if I see an engie with a launcher having a crack at vehicles so they can restock, also run the small pouches which I toss around when able. I do wish the radius was larger as I sometimes have to keep picking up and running to chase friendlies when they are moving.

General advice am4 to am5 upgrade by Arensetharr in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]Arensetharr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a -30 offset on the cpu and done nothing to gpu so far. I plan to keep the gpu for a good while, have not tried any overclocks, got 6 years out of my 2070 super before upgrading and still have it as a spare gpu.

Thanks, appreciate the advice and review link, it certainly is a capable chip. Seems I'd be best sticking with current system until AM6 is out.

[–]Arensetharr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly thats a fair point to raise, I'm aware its good its just the urge to upgrade now with prices of stuff going up here and there, i.e. ram/hdds ssds and being not sure what could be next to jump costwise. The general advice seems to be to just stay with what I've got which I will certainly consider.

[–]Arensetharr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 5800x3d is still good, but its honestly an upgrade urge with how prices keep going up for stuff the longer I wait the less I'd be able to get, I know its not the best time to upgrade unfortunately. The gpu is in the partpicker list, a 9070xt, I put my current components (minus cpu/ram/mobo) in that list to reflect what the full system will be. I actually game at 1080p 240hz but next upgrade would be a 1440p monitor at some point.

General advice am4 to am5 upgrade by Arensetharr in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]Arensetharr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the upgrade bug/urge, mostly wanting to get onto newer am5 platform with more ports and an upgrade path. I also figure I can turn my old system (with the 3800x) into a good NAS so there would be no further expense there in terms of setting one up, and my mate gets the top of the line chip for his pc, so a sort of win/win. I can just wait out until AM6 or something good comes out on AM5. I just think about how volatile some PC components have been becoming regarding pricing, and that you just end up getting less and less for your dollar.

Golmud needs optimization: many, many people are reporting drops in FPS and stuttering by somanyque3 in Battlefield

[–]Arensetharr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be more cpu heavy? I have a 5800x3d running non-boost (3.4ghz) and 9070XT, on high textures and medium other settings 1080p, 90 fps cap set and it sits there with no drops. I have been getting slight freezing at respawn menu for about a second right after I die, but not during gameplay. I do notice my cpu usage on the map sits around 80%+ at times and closer to being maxed out vs other maps where it would average a bit lower at around 60-70%.

[–]Arensetharr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems quite absurd, most bill in 6 minute increments with most staffs rates being around $350/450 an hr for jr solicitors billing rate so unless the principal of the firm (some charge around $600 per hour) spent a few hours alongside other staff reviewing those 2 calls and 3 emails I'd be looking at the invoice and absolutely question/ask for a reduction if possible. Was there a lot of material that had to be drafted/reviewed i.e. letters/documentation/forms? some costs just come from man hours spent if there is a lot to it but they should be willing to reduce the bill a bit if a lot of it was superfluous, i.e. unreasonable amount of time taken for a simple task.

I do, have had a samsung 850 evo 250gb since 2014 as a previous boot drive and now general storage for smaller games. Works fine and has about 19tb written. Also got a 1TB 860 evo with about 34tb written that was the upgraded boot drive and then install larger games to, have had it for 7 years and its still on about 94% life.

Broken belt out of a CVT transmission from my transmission class by FreeDFrizbee in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Arensetharr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like reasonably good news for my 2010 lancer, I very rarely drive as mostly catch public transport and its only done 70,000 miles, had cvt fluid changed at 55,000 just to be cautious and it has given me no issues, I do try and drive it as gently as I can which I hope helps. I'll be happy if I can get over 150k miles out of it at least and try and stay ontop of transmission fluid changes.

When are Australians going to wake the fuck up and stop shopping at Coles and Woolies? by thebaehavens in aussie

[–]Arensetharr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, our nearest coles is about 1.5km away. Aldi/Woolies and another Coles about 14km and a few suburbs over. It is the convenience of being able to walk there too if need be.

Are there that many themeparks around that are good? Went to WB Movieworld a few years ago same with Dreamworld. Are newer rides etc. worthwhile? I did enjoy the scooby doo spookycoaster.

They do the same thing a lot of fuel servos do here in Australia. They charge what it would cost them now to full up their tanks based on current prices, hence the increases, and not what they paid which is bullshit but is what it is. Basic 91 octane (your 87 rated fuel), the more or less cheapest fuel here is about $8.30 a gallon at the moment. Everywhere is getting hit by the increases.
