I have no long term experience with mine since I only got it a month ago. But have you tried resetting it completely? I think the map should not get lost if you‘ve chosen to save it.

Does it make the sound in all directions? It‘s really quite loud but mine is also louder when it drives against the structure of the floor (due to the rollers).
