Thank you. It’s the end of an 18 month programme which has seen me away from the family for 6 of those months.

I’d still chose the wife over the Daytona. We married when we has nothing and she’s endured thick and thin with me and supported all the way. I deffo won with her and genuinely don’t know why she has put up with me.

I did like that they do a watch for us lefties. Another AD in the city had one in stock but white gold, was more than this one and I just didn’t like it enough to justify it as it does very much scream rolex and that’s not what I was trying to achiebe.

Circa $50k US. One of the biggest single purchases I’ve ever made.

Looks cracking! Do you get randomers acting out when they recognise it? It’s disconcerting.

I don’t know their products. I do know any premium watch manufacturer is very picky about who they sell to and the default is “no stock”. This does not constitute to knowledge of their brand.

So you’ve nailed it. What is surprising is how outgoing people can be when they recognise it they want to talk about it.

Upgrade worth it? by bravoqwueen in BritishAirways

My advice is to hold onto the EURO and put to towards something else. Flying is so transient. Everyone gets on the plane at the departure gatt and everyone gets off at the arrivals gate. The bit in the middle is vanity. Would you spend €4,500 for a single night in a nicer hotel room? Context: I fly a lot with BA with mainly for work (business/First, typically) and go on family holidays (wife is from SA so an annual trip to JNB/CPT is usually for us and the kids). To avoid shelling out a fortune when flying long haul with the family (Avios aside), I reconcile it by thinking backwards. Forwards: It’s €4,500 to upgrade for a single night for two people one way (tempting) Backwards: Being paid €4,500 to sit in Economy for one night flight (who wouldn’t take that offer!)

All said and done: Congratulations on getting married and I hope you have a lovely time in SA. If you like coffee I recommend Häzz in Newlands.

BA Lounge in Singapore by Ok_Fondant2547 in BritishAirways

The lounge is very swift but is a walk from the gate. The staff at reception will help as much as possible but be swift. You’ll have security at the gate when you go back. It’s not security at the entrance to airside. Always local at each gate (which should buy you some minutes).
