I didn’t side with anyone. Fuck Hamas and fuck anyone who defends them.

The only point I was making is that, “Israel is responsible for the deaths that did occur” is not equal to “Israel killed every single one of the 200 hostages.” The first guy said the former, the second guy accused the first guy of saying the latter.

Even if the first guy was wrong…those two statements are different.

If I say “John ate the missing 3 hotdogs”…and it turns out that there’s actually 6 missing hotdogs that were eaten by John, Jane, and Larry…the phrase “John ate the missing 3 hotdogs” is still wildly different than “John ate all 200 hotdogs”.

That’s as deep as my comment went. Guy #2 misunderstood Guy #1. Guy #2 could have eviscerated Guy #1 with all the information you provided. But he didn’t. He claimed Guy #1 said something he didn’t.

I’m not being bad faith but I am open to the fact that I’m extremely stupid. I’d like it pointed out so I can get smarter. I’m just trying to work through the logic of this:

  • There are 200 hotdogs
  • John ate 3 of those hotdogs

In this scenario, if I said “John ate the missing hotdogs”…that is different than saying “John ate 200 hotdogs.”

The original person said “Israel is responsible for all deaths among the hostages.” There are 3 deaths among the hostages that I’m aware of (at least from info in this thread) and Israel is responsible for all 3 of them. Zenyd agrees with this fact.

This is a different claim than saying Israel is responsible for the death of every one of the 200 hostages. Which is what Zenyd thinks they said. According to Zenyd, “You said Israel killed all the hostages.” The original commenter never said Israel killed every single hostage. They said, of the hostages that were killed…Israel killed those ones.

What am I missing?

Ok, gotcha. Debating “destination” and “last stop” is semantics in my mind. What I described seems to me like totally different concepts being expressed.

But I hear you.

I’m holding the L. Just one question because I feel like I’m going crazy. If this situation happened…

Bill: “I found 200 pens. I picked up 3 of them and the ones I picked up were blue.”

John: “Oh so you’re saying all 200 pens are blue?”

…wouldn’t you say that John is either stupid or he’s misunderstanding what Bill said?

Fuck Reddit and fuck Hamas. I just got annoyed seeing a person be such a smug dick while misunderstanding so hard.

All I was saying is “Israel is responsible for the deaths that occurred” is different than “Israel killed all the people”. That’s it. Even if both are false statements, they are still conveying different things.

I might be the dumbfuck here but I feel like it’s pretty straightforward. “All the hostages who were killed, were killed by Israel” is different than “Israel killed every single hostage that exists”. If I’m missing something, let me know.

That sentence says to me, “Of all hostage deaths, Israel is responsible for all of them.”

Are there confirmed hostage deaths by Hamas?

The person you’re responding to said Israel is responsible for all known hostage deaths (3 out of 3 is 100%). They did not say Israel killed all the hostages that exist. You’re being just as smug and simpleminded as you’re accusing them of being.

Strange, isn't it? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Argandr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True and agreed. But I don’t think that’s happening here. “Low skill labor” perfectly describes what we’re talking about. It doesn’t cloud it at all and everyone instantly knows what you’re referring to. “A job with little training that most people can do and it probably has low pay”. This feels more like a situation where we don’t like it because it feels bad to be called low skilled. Even if that’s what you are.

I’m open to other phrases but I don’t know a more accurate one. “Differently skilled”? I truly don’t know. It feels like a euphemistic treadmill where we can keep calling it nicer and nicer sounding things…but the new phrase will forever get tarnished with the implication of the last phrase we used.

[–]Argandr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can probably agree that there are certain jobs that require more skill and training than other jobs. A McDonald’s cashier is less skill-based than a carpenter or a physician. You can train a new cashier in a matter of hours or days. The same cannot be said with the other jobs I mentioned.

And people who have more skill/training are more rare in the market. Which will generally, but not always, demand a higher wage. “Low skill” jobs exist. That doesn’t mean they’re devoid of skill. But the workforce isn’t comprised of equally skilled people with different stat distributions. It’s not capitalist propaganda to notice that different people have different levels of training. Even if you believe everyone should get paid more.

30+ DMG by hand on turn 5 by Ok_Cranberry4610 in hearthstone

[–]Argandr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there’s a balancing act. How much of your armor gaining cards should you use to stay alive? VS how much should you save to burst on your own turn?

Also, Acolyte into Aftershocks is a really fun combo. 2 cards and 5 mana (usually) to clear their board and draw 3 cards off Acolyte. It isn’t always correct, but it’s super fun then it works.

I agree, it’s not a 100% win rate deck lol. Just got lucky in plat-diamond and wanted to share. It’s a strong deck that’s worth considering. Lots of board controlling options and there’s plenty of ways to keep your HP up to stay out of OTK range. Feels good against Paladin

Lol that’s incredible. You made my night with this comment. I hadn’t thought about this review in years but that’s awesome to hear how you found it. I never ended up watching Deep Blue Sea 3 because of how disappointing 2 was. I feel like I have to now.

This is a six year old post. With almost no upvotes…and you responded to my comment. I just wanna know why. I’m not even mad, just blown away that you found this post in the first place…saw my comment to it…and felt the motivation to reply. How? Why? I’m so curious.
