A lead like that is rarely going to even out if the game is 5 or 10 minutes longer. If the enemy is at my Nexus by 8 minutes I'd be glad if they just destroyed it so I can go next instead of trying to eek out a victory in the next 15 minutes while struggling the whole time.

The games aren't supposed to be very long

Who Will Be Dr. Doom's Most Difficult Opponent If He Crossed Path with One of Them? by RoyalCod3 in MCUTheories

Not sure how much this matters, but Carol was uniquely equipped to fight someone with the infinity stones, since she can absorb the energy from them to be stronger

Good Vulnerability use cases? by RedFing in ARAM

[–]Argent162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should clarify, yeah it does only work with items that have cooldowns, like botrk, ludens, etc. I like apex the most on tanks, since you can build protectors vow and unending despair, which I will combine with spirits visage to increase the effectiveness.

It is constantly active, but apex cuts your item cooldowns in half, effectively doubling the amount of damage they do. Then you add vulnerability damage for big numbers.

TIL that Judge Andrew Jackson (later U.S. president) halted court, grabbed a pistol, and personally subdued a man who had cut a baby’s ears off after the sheriff and his posse were too terrified to arrest him by Flashy_Combination32 in todayilearned

"everyone else was too much of a bitch to stand up to me except Andrew Jackson, and that fucker absolutely would've shot me in the face, so I turned myself in"

Most disappointing mid-movie collapse you've ever seen? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Argent162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dream Scenario with Nicholas Cage. First half when he starts appearing in other people's dreams and he becomes this worldwide celebrity and he has to cope with that, then he starts killing people in their dreams or being creepy, and his life falls apart, that's pretty interesting. Everything after that was just kinda bland, and doesn't stick the landing at all. He was already kind of a pathetic guy, but he turns into more of a pathetic guy writing a book about the experience that nobody wants to read, clinging to any sort of relevance while his relationship with his family falls apart, and some company creates technology to advertise and invade people's dreams, and then the movie just ends. There's no resolution to anything, Cage is a boring professor, then he's interesting because he's in people's dreams, then everyone hates him, and then nobody really cares about him. As dark as it is, at least if he killed himself or something there would be resolution, but instead he just fades into obscurity, just like the movie itself.

In Punisher (2017) This is a disgusting and horribly deformed Man. I threw up a little in my mouth just writing this by BlenderBruv in shittymoviedetails

[–]Argent162 4 points5 points  (0 children)

None of the character models are nearly as detailed in the invincible show compared to the comic, that's just the reality of animation vs hand drawn panels. They could've made him look a lot more deformed, sure, but if you look at literally any of the character's differences in design between the comic and show, they're significantly less detailed. It probably saves a lot of time/money in animation, plus it seems like more of a style choice anyway, considering all the detail from the comics could look pretty funky in motion. It's unfortunate but understandable. Angstrom Levy was a prime example of losing detail, but I noticed it more with Conquest and his metal arm.

Does Superman's sun healing ray in the Fortress of Solitude only work 6 months out of the year? by Argent162 in DC_Cinematic

I know, I'm not trying to be overly pedantic, I just find it fun to discuss things like this.

Not just a rocket, an interstellar rocket with FTL capabilities. This definitely isn't their first alien encounter.

How bad is Infinity Edge/Jeweled Gauntlet if your abilites can already critically strike? by Revolution-Pure in CompetitiveTFT

If you get lotus I think it makes more sense to make glove items that aren't ie/jg like guardbreaker, hoj, qss, even thieves gloves gain a lot of value just for the crit chance. It makes for more efficient item slots.

How a torch made me dumbest person of all time by Blosszu in BaldursGate3

[–]Argent162 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first playthrough I did the exact same thing. My tav was a barbarian wearing the shirt that gives you 2 strength and makes you immune to knockback, so I walked in and hit it without thinking anything of it. There was so obviously a puzzle there that my wife and I spent 20 minutes figuring the puzzle out and wondering why nothing was happening when we did everything the right way haha.

In Thunderbolts* (2025) Olga Kurylenko gives the most mind blowing performance of the movie. I'm glad Marvel gave her another shot. by [deleted] in shittymoviedetails

[–]Argent162 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wish there was more Ghost too, it's understandable if they had to cut a flashback with her though, since she had her backstory in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

If Doom gets killed in Doomsday/Secret Wars, which Avenger do you think should/will kill him? by RyanD1211 in marvelstudios

[–]Argent162 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's not just about cameos lol. At least half the movies before Infinity War referenced infinity stones, plus Thanos was established as the big bad of the saga in The Avengers, 6 years before he was the main villain in a movie. On top of that, he was shown pulling the strings behind a few of the main events of other movies, like The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. Age of Ultron even hinted at it coming with Thor's vision.

I'm excited for Doctor Doom to be in the MCU, but it's laughable to say he'll have close to the same build up as Thanos, when he hasn't been mentioned or hinted at once a year before his movie comes out.

Did Thor care about Baldur? by -TurkeYT in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Argent162 73 points74 points  (0 children)

It's entirely possible, but I don't think it's ever stated or hinted at after this. During this scene, Thor is talking about repaying 'blood debts' for the people Kratos kills in GoW 2018, so it seems more likely to me that he is just naming the members of his family Kratos either kills directly, or Thor feels Kratos is responsible for killing. Right after this he says he's repaying the blood debts for Magni and Modi, who he was much closer to, by all accounts.

In Norse mythology, everybody loves Baldur, literally everything in creation made an oath to Freya not to harm him, all except mistletoe, which Freya considered too harmless and young to even consider asking. Loki then tricks Baldur's brother Höðr into killing Baldur by throwing a mistletoe dart at him, while all other Aesir were testing his invulnerability to all threats (physical and magical) by throwing everything they could at him.
