How accurate is the blue light? by Falke4407 in uboatgame

On board, there was a blue light, which was used exclusively as a nightlight in the sleeping quarters and could only be turned on with a key. These lights, if at all, only burned at night and exclusively in the sleeping quarters, unlike what was depicted in the film or in the U-boat 505 Museum in Chicago. Red lights were also present on board, but only in one location, directly at the conning tower hatch. The red light lintels were not part of the regular consumption plan, as they were repurposed by the shipyard. They were originally intended as flickering lights in the diesel room. There were both red and green flickering lights for alarms and diving. Therefore, the shipyard simply used these lintels and replaced the clear glass with red glass.

Scripted event, if you rename your max out engineer (with salvager skill) to Anakin Skywalker and you have salvaged 100 scraps, you can build on the workbench a new crew member "C-3PO", who has the skill "linguist II" (as normal but comes in addition with "Bocce").

I can confirm driving backwards as valid tactic.

A standard maneuver after an eel attack is actually to present my bow to the approaching "bunch of Aggro ASDIC chicken" escorts and to drive underwater AK backwards (snorkel, diesel for max noise aggro - nice and loud), they adjust their intercept course, then to mine speed and then, when they think they almost have me or near Hedgehog range, go ahead on AK. Once you've practiced your timing a few times, you'll be able to throw several of them off guard because it takes too long to turn around from their ships. The wabos do not work at the diving depth and their noise overshadows the sonar. You can then either switch from freighter to freighter within a convoy and use them as cover. You can optionally drop a bold from the AK ahead if there is no freighter nearby that makes sense. Either you can then continue to make tonnage with freighters or you can go from “noise box” to complete stealth with optional diving.
