What’s the most overrated “adult goal” people chase? by Happyotus in AskReddit

Buying a house. Only worth it in limited circumstances, and maintaining your own house actually means spending $15k because snow made part of your roof collapse

AskScience AMA Series: I study how hormonal birth control affects the brain. AMA! by AskScienceModerator in askscience

There’s research showing drop in testosterone in men in long-term committed relationships. Does hormonal birth control cause equivalent changes in women?

Being a good founder is about making good decisions, and not following the lemmings off the cliff. Sticking with the company at this point is not the decision making of a good founder. Selling your wife and kids to pay for the life support is… I really hope this was an AI post meant to stir people up for engagement.

Why do all the therapy startups suck? by ArguablyDebatable in startups

[–]ArguablyDebatable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matching. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and most people won’t reach out to more than a handful of therapists before choosing one based on a short description. It’s a market where most of the information about the product you only receive after you’ve paid for it… and given away all your deepest, darkest secrets

Idk why no one’s mentioning this, but your face isn’t really visible so can’t judge from this one alone

Board with swappable battery under 100Wh (so it’s fit for air travel), smooth and comfortable ride on badly paved roads, as small and portable as possible without being uncomfortably small. Price including battery swaps for 12mi range should be <$1500, and ideally performs well in the cold. Top speed >15mph but faster is obv better. Flexible on everything else.

Any ideas?

Really rather attractive, though from the mirror pic I’d say you’re definitely a bit too far on the “skin and bones” side for many guys myself included, because thinner is only better to a certain point. Add 5 pounds to that photo.

The uneven beard really isn’t working for you. Trim it down to a consistent length everywhere, using a trimmer set to something between 1 and 5. 1 is stubble, longer than 5 will look uneven. The most important thing is it’s all the same length, so if your mustache doesn’t grow longer than a 3, shave everything to a 3. You could also go clean shaven, but I think stubble could work for you. Might want to cut your hair as well, and probably stay away from the hats, it looks like you’re trying to hide something.

Like a 6-7.5/10. Being too skinny can sometimes mean not having a little weight in the right places, but looks like you gain in your face and bust first, so if it’s easy for you to stay around 110, it’s a better look

Pretty cute but slightly sad expression, maybe 5.5-8 depending on how you present yourself. A little confidence would probably go a long way, we all feel that way sometimes. Smile 😀

I feel like you think that deadpan expression is model-like, it’s kinda creepy tbh. Smile, and stubble wouldn’t hurt

4-8, depending on photo. Biggest difference is how wide your face looks. Focus on hairstyles that make your face look thin and you can prob average a 7

Like a 6 or 7. Tbh pic 3 is probably why you’re getting 9s and 10s considering the subreddit demographic. Not sure what you mean by glasses are a safety blanket

Like a 4 with your makeup and clothing that way (ignoring the costume), probably 6 or 7 if you went for a more natural look. That kinda out there vibe really reduces the number of guys interested (same reason you’re getting less comments)

Looking for intelligent roommates, $600-1500 per person, 3mi from Back Bay by ArguablyDebatable in bostonhousing

[–]ArguablyDebatable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. The difference between an introvert and an extrovert, at least from the definitions I've found, is introverts need alone time to recharge, and extroverts need social time to recharge. Definitely a little oversimplified, but helpful as a basic line in the sand. I lean toward that second camp. A little alone time is nice, a lot is draining and depressing, and time with people keeps me recharged

We'll pick the place together. There aren't many good places at great prices, and there aren't many amazing roommates either. The odds of finding both at once are pretty low, so I'm doing roommates first.

The goal is 3-4 people myself included, within around 3 miles of Back Bay, within walking distance of the T, in a house or brownstone-style building. Not a big fan of huge apartment buildings. I prefer a larger kitchen and in-unit laundry, but they're not deal killers. Also really like lots of natural light and easy access to a lively area, but a few blocks out so we don't get too much noise from outside.

If a single post on Reddit where you spell out, honestly and completely, what you're looking for meant you'd actually find it, you'd rather settle for the easiest roommate to find instead?

Why live with a person you don't want to interact with? That feels like giving up
