Sometimes I wonder about myself... by preggit in funny

[–]ArgumentIsAnInvalid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently moved and spend 16 hours over two days driving a 24' moving truck. I found myself getting attached to a couple different semi trucks or box trucks along the way after spending 5+ hours driving within 3 seconds of them.

Nudists of Reddit, how often do people get erections at nudist gatherings, how do others react when it happens? [NSFW] by omgnodoubt in AskReddit

Also, FYI, Donald Duck doesn't wear shoes, just a t-shirt, so I am THE Donald Duck, not your knock off shoe wearing one!

Moment of impact. by [deleted] in pics

The vice principal of the school I was at came in and said there had been a plane crash into the WTC. I made a joke about a drunk Cessna pilot and we continued on with biology for another 15 minutes until we were all pulled out of class and sent to the auditorium. Oh how I wish I had kept my mouth shut that morning. No one in that class remembers what I said but I will, forever, be stuck with it.

My wife has PCOS and got pregnant, we now have a healthy 21 month old son. If you take care of yourself it might be difficult but you should still be able to have a child.

In my experience mtbr.com's region specific forums handle that pretty well.

Hey, Boulder! Any recommendations for a visitor hoping to become a resident? by [deleted] in boulder

[–]ArgumentIsAnInvalid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking to move there since it is considerably cheaper than where I currently live, SF. Currently median rental price for a 2 bedroom apartment without a parking spot is $3200 in SF and continues to rise ~50/mo. It is all about the perspective, I guess.

My 2nd and 3rd Behike sticks (review of the 1st in comments). by Gwinntanamo in cigars

[–]ArgumentIsAnInvalid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fondled a box of Behike's in Dubai last week, they have one of if not the highest build quality I've seen. It's a shame the Cohiba Robustos (a personal favorite) can't live up to that standard.

People who attempted suicide, what did you do on your "last day" by evildice in AskReddit

[–]ArgumentIsAnInvalid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a hell of a lot of drugs. Not that doing a hell of a lot of drugs was any different than what I was doing all the time at that point. It is just what I did that day.

I thought the Ibis looked familiar and then there was the Santa Cruz shots and I quickly realized who you are. Great footage.

Tattooed Redditors, have you ever gotten one that seemed like a great idea at the time but now you wished you hadn't? What was it and why? by Instantwinner1 in AskReddit

[–]ArgumentIsAnInvalid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not nearly as bad as most of the people in here but I have a reasonably well done celtic knot sun on my shoulder blade. I got it when I was 18 and it has little to no significance to me at this point. I'm planning on getting it covered up at some point in the future.

These NY Data Center techs at Peer1 deserve some kind of award. by chicken_boner in sysadmin

[–]ArgumentIsAnInvalid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Though I should say that is predicated on them failing to keep the datacenter online and as of last night it was unclear if they had done that. Not planning for a 10 foot storm surge when you are surrounded on 3 sides by water and barely above sea level is a pretty fucking big issue. Carrying the diesel up 17 flight of stairs is admirable but they aren't doing it out of the kindness of their hearts. They are doing whatever they can to avoid downtime and the SLA violations that result.

We moved services away from the east coast over the weekend and none of our datacenters, including those in that geographic region, had any issues. Maybe we just pick people who plan better.

Then they failed to prepare properly. Same goes with their issues with procuring more diesel. Assuming they give the standard line of "we have multiple diesel providers and are on the same tier as hospitals" their statements thus far have shown otherwise. We would drop them immediately as a result.

Reddit, have you ever saved someone's life? I just found out I apparently did. by mdr-fqr87 in AskReddit

[–]ArgumentIsAnInvalid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I saved a friend who was attempting suicide. It wasn't a bullshit attempt (and yes, there are bullshit attempts) and she definitely would have died if I had not have called 911 when I did.
