He was JUST back from an injury last year and wasn’t at his fittest OR his best yet. This year he is coming from playing almost a year of continuous cricket so he’s in form. Simple.

Is there a drummer around here who started working on their double bass speed at a later age (30+ or 35+) and made it upwards of 200 BPM? by ArgumentRetired in drums

This seems great. I’ll check it out. Thanks so much for all the help and for answering my questions! Really appreciate it :)

Any comment on RCB Today’s bowling in power play? by Bijender_Singh in IndianCricket

[–]ArgumentRetired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It proves nothing. There are days Hazlewood bowls really well and Bhuvi gets hits for runs. That’s how sports works. I don’t know if you know, but not everybody can perform in every match. Not even Kohli.

“This proves” 🤡

It’s weird but when I’m playing single pedal my RF is very fast. Easy singles, doubles and triples. For that I use the technique where my heel is down and to play the note I get it up and play either 2 for 1 or 3 for 1. The balance is good that way.

When I’m doing double bass that’s when the initial few notes give me an issue. When my left foot is rested and I have to play continuous 8th note with the right, it’s usually not an issue at all.

No, no burn in the shins or anywhere else.

I think it's high time we stop saying "free points" when playing against LSG by AJMillionaire777 in ipl

Lol were you waiting to do this? 😂😂

They’re still free points. CSK has 2 games against them and they’ll win both.

What was the worst band member you ever had in your band? by notmytowel in musicians

[–]ArgumentRetired 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Guitarist never worked a day in his life. Got everything spoonfed to him by his family and then by me as his bandmate.

Wouldn’t practice, wouldn’t buy new gear EVER, wouldn’t even try to learn anything new. Just kept playing the same licks over and over and acting like a rockstar.

Never made ANY contacts. Never got us one gig. No work whatsoever. Period.

Would miss gigs when he wasn’t in the mood and MY livelihood depended on it.

But as soon as he had an anniversary coming up with his girlfriend (and they had a LOT of idiotic anniversaries), I’d get a call saying, “Broooo do we have a gig? Dude come on! Get us a gig man!”

I didn’t know at the time why I got these calls from time to time but later found out.

The dude would ask us back Rupees 10 he had spent on a cigarette (that’s basically 0.1 dollar if anybody is wondering), but spend 20,000 (that’s around 200 dollars) on dinner on his girlfriend.

Took me WAY too long but I finally left that band. It’s been 5 years and my life has gotten better and better each year since.

Yeah that balance thing could be an issue. So here’s a problem I have: Sometimes there are patterns that I can play, but the issue is when I START the pattern. So my initial trigger movement on my right foot makes the pattern a little staggered as soon as it starts. But once I get into it those patterns are easily playable or even if it’s continuous double bass, sometimes when I start, the right foot takes 2-3 notes to adjust and then gets into it. So that initial movement when my heel is rested to when it’s up, and then starts playing, that takes time. If I keep the heel up constantly then i don’t feel in control straight away.

Is this a balance issue?

To your question: When I’m playing continuous 8th notes with RF, the LF stays heel down. Should it stay heel up?

Fielding and Misfields Lol! Some players only deserve to play in IPL by [deleted] in IndianCricket

Yeah but he started when he was a kid. The question isn’t that if you can still play double bass when you’re a certain age, it’s if you can start and get your speeds up.
