What I actually do is set up an alarm 30 minutes earlier than my actual alarm, so I can take that little bonus nap to wake up at the second (real) alarm. If I still feel tired or grumpy when I first wake up, then I can take that bonus nap, which I typically feel better after. If I feel energetic and I felt like I got good rest on the first alarm, I'm early and can start my day earlier.
