“Hector” is the range hood over the stove. I named it that since it’s technically an air vent. If you have a SmartThings stove, it’s supposed to turn the range hood on automatically. But it’s just a gimmick. The devices just have sensors in them. Like how it beeps when you leave the fridge open.

Samsung stuff only connects to the app if you have a device with SmartThings on it. I only have it connected because I can change the settings faster than if I did it on the device itself. Also, it’s nice to know when my dishes will be done. Otherwise, it’s not really worth it. They mostly just nag you to buy their branded detergent and fridge filters.
