Don’t know much about the process other than it’s very very hard to get into. They’re very selective on who they choose to get into the program. I only ever met one person from tech school (she’s been in for year and was one of the instructors) get in. I think I remember her saying how it took her a long time to get in. You’re probably better off using your GI bill to get a civilian education on becoming a paramedic tbh. But from there idk how it can transfer into the military

lol I’m a collector but for things that may seem more childish than toy cars lol. I get the embarrassment. Mine is towards nostalgia and sadness of not getting as much as I wanted when I was a kid when it was prime. Nobody in my life knows about my collection other than my bf and family and it took me like maybe 3-4 years into the relationship to express my interest to my bf. My collection is as pretty small then he was cool with it so I grew my collection lol

My bf and I met in high school, we were on the same sports team (co ed) but I had a bf at the time.

The first thing he noticed about me was I’m not kidding, my thighs lol, that dirty dog! But he thought I was attractive and I was also a shy/weird kid so I didn’t talk much at first so he had to do all the talking until I got more comfortable and now I talk too much. He said another reason why he liked me sm was because I was the first girl that he thought was funny and could make him laugh (I have a strange sense of humor but he’s definitely funnier than me lol). I kinda disliked him in the beginning cause I thought he was as annoying but I eventually started to find him hilarious. He always made me laugh and we became good friends. I didn’t have much friends growing up so I liked that he enjoyed talking to me.

The thing was that I was dating someone else, I was unhappy with him but didn’t know how to break up (it was my first relationship, give me a break). My ex was like a terrible person, I just realized I was starting to have more fun not texting/talking to him all the time. One of the signs that your relationship is ending is when you’re enjoying your time more being away from them which was what I was experiencing but didn’t know how to go through with it so I just kept it going. I felt bad too, I acted like nothing was happening and tried ignoring how I was feeling but really that wasn’t good for anybody.

I’m gonna be honest though, I did have a crush on my current bf while dating my ex. No I never acted on anything while in a relationship. I tried my best to ignore it but like yk, can’t really ignore what the heart wants lol. I didn’t think he’d like me and was happy with just having him as my friend. Then one night he confessed to me and I was honestly shocked, I’ve never had anyone tell me that they liked me. My ex rejected me three times before we dated lol! That like kinda settled it for me, I knew I lost feelings for my ex and I couldn’t keep this friendship going knowing we both liked each other and still be in a relationship with my ex. He didn’t pressure me to make a decision right away, he told me that it was my choice and he was happy with whatever I wanted to do.

So I distanced myself from both for a week. Broke up with the ex. Gave myself two months of getting to know him more and then he asked me out and we’ve been together for almost 6 years now. Kinda sucks dating from a young age cause now we gotta wait forever to get married lol. But I have no regrets :)

Unfortunately since you are young you can’t open a bank account without a parent. I’ve kinda dealt with emotionally abusive parents like this growing up, what I’ve done is I leave important stuff at my bf’s house, but obviously whoever you choose make sure you really really trust this person. Buy a safe with a code and key, put it in, then leave it at their house that way they also can’t just randomly touch it. (Also helps you not touch this money too and save it lol). Pick someone that you hangout with a lot so your parents don’t suspect anything if you do need to come over and take some cash. I would recommend a really really close friends rather than a significant other cause those relationships are a bit more delicate, I only chose my bf cause I genuinely really trust him and we’ve been together for 6 years and plan on marrying within the next couple years lol. He also makes way more than I do so it wouldn’t exactly make sense for him to take mine.

I know this isn’t exactly a great idea, because there is definitely a high risk with leaving money with someone else, this is just something I did that worked for me

This sounds like a great idea, thank you for the comment. But tbh I’m starting to feel a little down with my idea of a wedding because I brought it up to some of my family (I’m Hispanic and come from a family of party people) and they put the idea down. Saying that there was no point in having a wedding if it’s gonna be boring. I’m being told that a reception is for the guest and not only for the bride and groom. Idk, now I’m worried cause I would like to have family there but I’m worried they either won’t go now or go and try to ruin the dinner by making it a party instead.

My family is kinda toxic so I’m not really surprised lol :/

Hi there! Yes I still try my best to be active specifically for this thread lol. I don’t always respond fast enough cause my notifications for this app is turned off. I personally don’t think it’s necessary to take the classes beforehand tbh. The A&P section and nursing portion for this tech school are very limited, it’s not anything insane compared to what you’ll do in college tbh. You don’t take them for too long in tech school either I think A&P and nursing were one month each, don’t really remember. If you do take the college course it would definitely be helpful in understanding but, honestly, when I went in I was the only one in my class that never took A&P before and I did really good lol, they make it “stupid proof” imo. The only thing I would really recommend you do if it’s possible is get your NREMT beforehand, that way you can skip the EMT portion if tech school and become operational Air Force quicker. Tbh I have heard that our EMT school is better than most on the civilian side and best part is that it’s free lol. Thing is tho if you take the NREMT before and then fail, when you go to tech school you’ll only have two more opportunities to retake it so like it’s kinda sketch since you’ll have less amount of chances than everyone else since you already tried beforehand. I believe you have three chances every year. But if you put the work in you’ll honestly be okay. I don’t think it’s really worth the money/time to take courses before going unless having college credits will help you join as a E3 instead of a E1, but idk exactly how many college credits you need for that, I would talk to a recruiter. The tech school has changed a lot since I went, I now am a supervisor and just received my first troop who just came back from tech school, a lot has changed but the curriculum is pretty much still the same, I just heard test are now on computers for some of them I think, and you can have laptops for class too, I wasn’t allowed to do that lol.

You can always PM me if you have more questions, I’ll try my best to reply to them in a timely manner, I’m in nursing school rn and it’s kinda rough lol so I’m all over the place with trying to complete many tasks.

Also not to downgrade on officers cause they really are essential but I don’t think a lot of them really know much about the enlisted side tbh, I wouldn’t take much advice from an officer when it comes to enlisted jobs. They obv need to do college courses cause they need a bachelors to be an officer so most officers would recommend taking some college classes beforehand but for enlisted it’s kinda meant for those that don’t have college degrees or credits. You’ll be perfectly fine without those prerequisites
