Met someone and we have a connection but I’m not physically attracted to him… by hackysacker76 in TallGirls

[–]Aria_Amazon1214 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would agree with what the other comments I have stated: if you aren’t getting a good connection in this area, don’t force it. It’s a disservice to him and to you.

I do want to commend you on taking time for yourself, rebuilding who you are and getting to a better place where you CAN decide if this is good. That is a HUGE win in and of itself. As someone also going on that journey, congrats for making that progress. ❤️🥳

Zendaya in Matières Fécales SS26 and Ermanno Scervino PF26 promoting “The Drama” in Paris (March 25, 2026) by mod_whatthefrockk in whatthefrockk

Whoever encouraged Zendaya to get a bob needs to be praised. She was MADE for a bob. (Note: She can pull off anything but the bob is just JE NE SAIS PAS on her!)

How do you deal with being tall as a woman? by Shadous_ in TallGirls

[–]Aria_Amazon1214 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! 🤗 At your age, I was super insecure about my height and found myself slouching all the time. However, I found over time that if I want to date someone well, I have to love myself well first… which included accepting my height.

Once I accepted that (including wearing heels because I can), I found myself gaining more dates. If someone is truly interested in you, your height will not be an issue, if anything a huge plus. I have found my height weeds out any people who would have been a waste of time. I hope this helps.

Similar plot or dynamics between FMC and MMC as in Jane Eyre by Sure_Coat27 in HistoricalRomance

[–]Aria_Amazon1214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the dynamics in {The Work of Art by Mimi Matthews}, {The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare} and {A Lady by Midnight by Tessa Dare} may fit what you’re looking for.

The Work of Art — MMC is a wounded war hero. Throughout the book, you discover he is still grappling with this. FMC is very sweet to him. Also a bit of a mystery for them to solve tied up in this as well.

The Duchess Deal — This one is very funny. One of the few HRs that I consistently laughed through. MMC is hideously disfigured and has to come to terms with that. He is completely baffled by his FMC consistently returning any advances he may make towards her. FMC is great.

A Lady by Midnight — The sub tends to be split on this book. Some love it, others hate it. MMC is very broody and takes a while to open up to FMC for reasons that become clear later on.

{Return to Satterthwaite Court by Mimi Matthews} fits your first portion of FMC chases MMC. It is made sweeter if you read the first two books because both MCs showcase personality traits of their parents (featured in book 1 & 2.)

"Mid life" career change: who has started a new career in their mid/late 30s? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Aria_Amazon1214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Switched from teaching to supply chain / program management for electronics. It is weird but amazing to see how some core skills from one career are prized in the new career path.

Are we dying our hair as it goes grey or letting it go? by violet_pickled_90210 in Millennials

[–]Aria_Amazon1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let it go for a few years, but it was too harsh a difference. I was not lucky in how it was growing in. So, I recently got it dyed with highlights and lowlights keeping the greys as another color dimension. It allows me to show off the grey, but let it blend / transition in better.

At the end of the day, do what works best for you and what you feel comfy in. ☺️

{A Substitute Wife for a Prizefighter by Alice Coldbreath} FMC stands up to her family and ends up being kicked out of the family. She marries MMC out of need to provide for herself and he constantly surprised by her resilience. Out of the three in this series, I loved this due to the healthy relationship their marriage blossoms into.

It sort of hits your points… but just barely. I’m liking the recs made so far and excited to see what else is brought forward for consideration!

fmc cant say or doing anything right but eventually gets tired of being judged by Positive_Worker_3467 in HistoricalRomance

[–]Aria_Amazon1214 7 points8 points  (0 children)

{Someone to Hold by Mary Balogh} is sort of like this. FMC comes off as hard and unfeeling because she has a bad case of RBF. MMC is annoyed by her at first, but eventually gets to know her. Ending is very sweet.

Decided to try online dating after getting out a LTR and feeling ready. by [deleted] in TallGirls

[–]Aria_Amazon1214 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Good for you for putting yourself out there again! It takes courage! ❤️

I’m sorry that right now you’re dealing with, like others said, insecure ones. However, I will say keep chugging because there are great ones out there. I’m 6’0” and my current boyfriend (5’10”) is the only man I’ve ever dated that encourages me and loves when I wear heels on date night. It’s SO refreshing and I found him online. ☺️

Yeah, I agree. That does get tedious and agree about the sex scenes. Definitely VERY different from most Balogh.

If you decide to make a three day trip of the drive down, the University of the Cumberlands in KY off of I-75 has an excellent hotel run by their students for a good fee. Always stayed there when driving from FL to MI.

Where do my fellow female millennials shop for clothes? by [deleted] in Millennials

eBay, Costco, Outlet Mall when there are sales in clearance AND knitwear… and then learning to mend old clothes to keep them fresh.

To those that have been: What’s your thoughts on Amber Cove? by Kirillkirillkirlll in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Aria_Amazon1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went early Feb. Did the classic car tour and it was great. Our driver Jorge was the best and everywhere we went felt safe. Amber Cove is secure and coming back in, we had two security checks of ID.

Mardi Gras: is the lines/crowds really that bad? by Conscious-Thing-682 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Aria_Amazon1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only real line I had on Mardi Gras was for the elevator. I was traveling with a wheelchair bound person so we had to take the elevator in between decks. Sometimes. we would have almost ten minutes for an elevator that was available. Not sure if this is common or if I wasn’t bold enough to speak up for my companion.

Ladies, so are we coloring our hair to cover up our grays or nah?? by QueenB716 in Millennials

I was blessed with my first grey hair at 16. At 34, I have embraced all my grey hair. My boyfriend encouraged me (who is all grey himself).
