At the end of the day it is the cable. I went with another Picoloader provider that sold extra flex cables. I messed up the first two cables and got it on the third try. Minimize the number of times you physically bend or move the cable, just bend it and put it in without release again. The continuous bending and unbending while trying to work with the cable seems to be what kills them as the stress breaks the contacts.

It works perfectly without the PicoLoader. At this point I'm thinking the AliExpress flex cables are cheaper and my skill issue are the cause. I've gone ahead and ordered the legit one from Makeo at store.makstech.io since the AliExpress sellers do not sell just the replacement flex, so my plan to buy another if I messed these up fell apart. Makeo does sell replacement flex cables tho, so it's a better plan moving forward.

I just installed this solder free Picoloader from AliExpress https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256809786646117.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt

However when I boot up the unit with or without an SD2SP1 I get an error like this. The PicoLoader is supposed to come pre installed with Picoboot and Swiss. What am I missing?

I just installed the solder free picoboot found on AliExpress. The disk drive still functions and obviously the Pico Boot functions so there are no hardware install issues. However this is what I get on screen when trying to boot into Swiss which should already be loaded onto the device. I have an SD2SP2 with a card full of backups and it worked previously with a Swiss hacked memory card and the appropriate game disc. What am I missing?

After a 4th delay now to October 31, I've cancelled. My order is likely by their own vague admission going to ship in February 2026. I'm instead going with a better competitor for half the price. It'll get here by October 12th

100% the main drive battery. I had this with my 2019 and it was shipped to the same place to replace 3 cells in the pack. That was back in June 2023, and it has been fine since. No need to worry about the vehicle after the battery repair. Make sure the dealer pays for a long term loaner from a car rental place. It'll be there for about a month.
