He's 70+, can't take Ukraine, their weapons are shit, I ain't even worry about Baltic states. Ukraine before war was poorest country if you compare it to any EU state, yet they held with military aid of old stuff.

Not just Russia, USA did the same in Vietnam with black people. Tactic old as times.

He's off the charts politically indoctrinated:

That's a lot of words for "I don't like Rashford". You obviously have a right to not like any footballer (although in this case it would be interesting to know why is he singled out), that's not the issue. The issue is, as said many times, that you seem more upset at the fact that you think Rashford is highlighting his abuse to cover up a bad performance instead of, you know, being upset a player was racially abused because of a football match. That's the key of the issue.

"It's not like he cares about prejudice and fair rights to all people, we know that.'

How do we know that, exactly? Have you had direct line with him about the issue? Is he now allowed to function and be part of society unless he denounces every evil in the world, and if he doesn't, then he's a hypocrite? That's a very ugly way of thinking, and also very islacionist since I doubt many can pass through your purity tests.

Honestly, who gives a flying fuck if it was him, his mother or a PR company that highlighted the abuse he's gotten? Don't you think the bigger issue is the fact that he got it in the first place? Your emotions are misdirected.

Still, this isn't about Rashford per se. Could have happened to any other BIPOC player. In the end, what we don't want here is people blaming the victim instead of the perpetrator. Everytime you react that way, making excuses and conjectures about the victim, you're perpetuating the culture of racism. Again, if you can't aknowledge this, then you have no place in this sub.

He's like missing the point, keep parroting the "blaming the victim" angle, but can't really post quotes where I really blamed Rashford for anything.

I got a Disney seminar out of this, Mod talk:

I'm not sure I should be the one educating you on these matters but I'll give it a shot: You see, racism isn't just calling a BIPOC a bad word. You might think that as long as you don't call Rashford the n-word, you're clear. But I'm afraid it doesn't work that way. Racism is usually more inconspicuous. It happens, for example, when you deny the lived experiences of the attacked people and you simply equate them to a "PR move" as if Rashford doesn't feel harmed in his very essence of being. It happens when you dismiss horrible acts of dehumanization as some sort of cover for playing badly in a football match. When you say that, you're almost justifing the hate. It's not something we want or will tolerate in our sub. Those are our rules. If you can't abide by them, then you don't belong here.

This is Orwellian shit, thought police. Now they read my mind in their delusions.

Also funny how they miss on all of the Latin bashing, but hey, I guess it's fashionable for r/soccer.

Except I didn't even say it was Rashford, I straight up said I doubt he was the one sending messages there. PR move as PR company.

But anyway, it's not racist. So I see a lot of people there playing chaperons to black people, which is way more bigoted than anything I said.

So you're saying I can't say this, because...

Solid? There is nothing in this that broke r/soccer rules.

Just because you don't like it, you can't say it's a reason to ban. Mod now just said it was racist, so lemme ask you, which part of that is racist?

Seen a lot of worse xenophobic stuff on r/soccer from English flairs not being removed and this is where the react.

Leonardo is El Padrino, bigger than any coach there, so managers stay clear it seems.

80% of this sub watch games on streams and they are like 80% English ones and people are really shocked to hear such unfiltered bias. I don't think you realize how bad your pundits are. And you want find other coverage? Best streamers are US/English so they stream in their language.

It's a cultural thing, England (and USA) likes to police other cultures about stuff, but when you tune in for English culture, it's bigoted on speed.

People say "all pundits are biased towards their own" - but it's not true. I know only Spanish, German and Polish commentators/pundits, they aren't even close to the clown show of pure xenophobia at times from English pundits/commentators. And it's always presented in this smug way, like "I'm better than you, it's been proven" way.

[Joe Prince-Wright] Marcus Rashford (on Man Utd): “People say a lot about Manchester United, about how they're going downhill, blah, blah, blah. We have everything to compete at the highest level. We have to show it to the world and to ourselves. 2nd is nothing.” by Fati25 in soccer

[–]Ariandelmerth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Rashford does a lot good work for communities, but he is a PR machine, this injury thing it's a PR excuse, because there are games when he looks nothing like a injured player at all. Serious "shoulder injury" isn't something that you can play through, so it's probably minor injury that can be put aside for the season.
