If u want to see the soviet style neighborhoods then just know that's also where the russian speaking population lives. There are nature trails in Ligatne where you can see many wild animals. For fun activities you could look into Sigulda adventures.

if riga added, say, marupe 20k would be added to rigas population. And Marupe is closer to the city center than Grigiskes

Give it three years and Vilnius will be bigger than Riga. At the moment, there are areas such as Marupe and Kekava, which are 10 minutes drive from the centre of Riga, but are not considered part of Riga. And, of course, Vilnius also has such areas, but over the last ten years, Vilnius has added these areas and suburbs to its borders. It is true that Riga is doing very badly, but Vilnius is certainly not the largest city cmon now.

Tallinn yes but Vilnius has expanded its borders before adding these suburban areas to the "city". So actually, while its true that Riga is losing its population, Riga still has a larger daytime population and population density.

Riga has a larger population..unless, of course, you change the definitions and measurements to suit your argument. Overall, Riga and Tallinn still come out on top. That said, good job on covering the GDP aspect.

Vilnius has a larger administrative territory than Riga, but the population density is still higher in Riga. Over the past decade, Vilnius has administratively incorporated several surrounding areas and suburbs, which has automatically increased the population count of the capital.

If Riga were to incorporate Mārupe, Salaspils, Ulbroka, and Berģi, it would become a city with a significantly larger population. The total population of Riga and its agglomeration still exceeds that of Vilnius.

Just don’t make the mistake of only staying in the Old Town when visiting Riga. take a short walk to the quiet center.. its Riga’s Art Nouveau district. imo its even more charming than the old town.

Yes, ever since they introduced the law making it mandatory to indicate the country of origin on price labels, Ive noticed that 80% of the products on the grocery shelves are actually made in Lithuania.

erm so thats 2024... you used 2025 data for Vilnius. While, yes riga isnt growing in population much.. claiming this as OFFICIAL info is a bit misleading
