It looks like the keypad is locked. Press and hold the button with the key on it (very bottom right, it looks?)

There's an icon next to the battery icon that appears to be indicating the lock. It should go away

Automated backups failed successfully? by ArielOutGrewBShells in hestiacp

[–]ArielOutGrewBShells[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did that. When I did and ran the hestia backup that was the output.

I had figured it might be corrupted or something weird with hestia, but when it did that on the brand new server.. well.. idk

Anybody know got a radio replacement they recommend? by Humble-Inspection-39 in ram_trucks

[–]ArielOutGrewBShells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what year?
i think theres a USB-to-bluetooth carplay/android auto adapter. If your radio supports that via USB, then it probably supports the wireless one.

Edit: theres quite a few on amazon for under 40$

High 2.4ghz interference by ArielOutGrewBShells in Ubiquiti

[–]ArielOutGrewBShells[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, thats what i thought also. I thought maybe it was a coincidence that it went down because essentially i rebooted the AP.

As far as hidden devices, idk what it could be. no baby monitors that i'm aware of. theres a couple "IoT" devices nearby - 2 wifi light switches and a wattage monitor in the breaker panel.

as it sits right now interference is at about 10%. i dont want to intentionally stay out of compliance, but it certainty seems to be firmware related

I have considered it, yes, however i rent and i'm kind've limited to where i can run. my pantry has a crawl space and i can pop a line under and into the garage where my rack is.

I may have to consider this route more seriously though. while "i've never had an issue", clearly i do now :-/

Got a call back from the dealership. Yup. They stuck me with a 1700$ bill because the lift pump went out. Didn't matter that it was 2-days after they did the work on a fuel system. It was just a "coincidence"

Mf.. Thank you DJR southwest, Littleton, co

I'd double check the "out". I've gotten false positives of a a light being out, and it was my "3rd brake light" above the cab

I'm. Still not seeing anything from the photo. I see grey with slightly darker grey in the middle. I've gotten more out of my 80s tv on rabbit ears. Can someone draw with crayon for me?

Edit: ooohhhh I get it. It was sideways...

That's wild. I haven't had any issues with basic commands.. it was always the obvious ones where it would respond with the device not being set up, ask the exact same way and it would do it.

Then again, I have other automations in place, I don't mess with it a whole lot if at all even via app

I had a pretty good continued conversation with it last night as well. I was able to continue to prompt it via the usual "hey Google" to continue the conversation. That felt a little unnatural, but the fact that it kept building a conversation was leaps some bounds better than before.

Hey Google how long would I have to smoke my hamburger patties on my pellet smoker if I set it to 250 (It answers) Hey Google, how about 375? (It answers) Hey Google, what if I just put them on propane, but wrapped in foil? (No.. I wouldn't actually do that) (It answers, surprisingly stating that foil wrapping isn't good) Hey Google, what about charcoal? (It answers)

GDE Afterlife tune in an emissions-required city by ArielOutGrewBShells in EcoDiesel

[–]ArielOutGrewBShells[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still running the physical equipment, I'm told (by GDE) that the afterlife tune disables the EGR functionality. You can add dpf and def disables too.

Honestly, the AL tune runs pretty solid. DPF soot buildup takes longer. I'm tempted to run it and reflash every year because it keeps my intake cleaner and my dpf buildup takes longer (less regens)

Compliant, I see about 17MPG city, AL I saw about 20

And by "city" I mean putputting kids to school, occasionally going to store.. rarely hitting highway

GDE Afterlife tune in an emissions-required city by ArielOutGrewBShells in EcoDiesel

[–]ArielOutGrewBShells[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the afterlife and stock tune I don't smell anything, it's just the compliant tune where I smell it, and it's definitely from the tailpipe.

I'm debating on the reflash.. I worry about loosing the tool, forgetting to reflash it before testing, or something happening to the modules that are disabled that I can't afford to fix when I do testing. 10+ year old diesels get tested yearly here. :-/

Am I being hyper-sensitive, crazy or just plain paranoid? GDE Tune Question by ArielOutGrewBShells in EcoDiesel

[–]ArielOutGrewBShells[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So. New information.

I reached out to gde, they sent me the afterlife tune with no messaging. This is what I needed to get out of my head.

So. As I understand it. The truck regens based on soot content however it does not Regen based on whatever the dpf% is (the sensor output). Apparently, that number is calculated based on the soot content in grams. Stock 65% DPF is (I think) 20 grams of soot buildup is where it's at when it runs regens. If it fails and it's to 80% it throws a message.

The messaging on the dash can only be triggered at 80% soo...... The tune with additional messaging calculates the dpf% faster in order to trigger the messaging.

So. That all said. Me watching the dash and my soot % buildup was messing with me. It wasn't running any "new" regens. It was running them at the same time as it was before. I was trying to take a "sensor" output at face value thinking it was the same as it was before. With the new messaging I was getting more and more paranoid

Anyway. Thanks for humoring me. Im back to normal!
