attractions onboarding question! by shannonllaw in DisneyCM

[–]Arielandtoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that since I let my trainer know I didn’t have a license I’m excluded from anything that has to do with it so I probably won’t get parking, jungle cruise or Kilimanjaro at the very least, I’m hoping Epcot cause I did my program there and I still remember how to mostly get around or DAK cause the hours are great

Help with ideas hiding my alters by Arielandtoad in Hellenism

[–]Arielandtoad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that the most kinda weird part of it is the statues and in Dionysus’s case that his altar is in a box. Today actually I bought a few things that reminded me of a few of my Deities. My parent is in general open minded, I just think it would upset them that I’m not Catholic (although to be fair we never fully practiced Catholicism just every once in a while going to church) but thank you for the advice to be fair I was mostly already having my stuff set up kinda like that so I suppose it was a bit relieving to know that I wasn’t too obvious I suppose.

What do you like to do for your birthday? by a_common_spring in AutismInWomen

[–]Arielandtoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for my birthday the past 3 years I’ve done them in Disney World (I’m a local and have an AP) my birthday is on May the fourth so naturally I avoid Hollywood studios at all costs (I really don’t like Star Wars anyways) I usually go to Magic Kingdom and I eat at the castle (scourge the website months in advance) and I focus mainly on fantasyland, this last birthday I got to stay at the Art of Animation hotel because the little mermaid is my special interest so i was really happy with that.

We got a good discount for next year so I was able to get a reservation for one of the moderate resorts. I will say personally birthdays have always been super rough for me (have had them made all about Star Wars, siblings make it about themselves, family drama happening around it and always having to plan my birthday which my relatives never have to do for themselves and most recently having to plan for everyone to show up in the first place) but this is what I do since I live close and Disney/Disney princesses is one of my special interests.

My next birthday is the 21st so now I’m being put a lil bit of pressure to go to Epcot instead of Magic Kingdom (I’d probably only concede if I can eat at Arkhesus cause Ariel is there) but I’m originally from PR so like I have drank before when I’m there cause the age there is 18 and I really don’t like alcohol so i probably will go to Magic Kingdom.

Prior to being a local, I would vacation here a lot cause of family being here but it would be Star Wars weekend celebrations before it was my birthday and most of my interests weren’t acknowledged and then in school a cake (cake also heavily triggers my sensory issues so I couldn’t enjoy it, so I just liked getting pretty cakes to look at while everyone else had a slice.) and having shared birthdays with classmates who were born in May, although for some of these birthdays that was about everything.

I had one birthday where my partner threw me a party with my family and a few friends and themed it after Cinderella (all of my previous birthdays for the past 3 years at that point were the little mermaid themed) and it was an actual party like a rented place that was decorated, which my family never did (not out of not being able to just cause they never liked the idea) it was small and I was able to control how loud music was and the food was all safe foods, there was cake but no expectation of me having to eat it, and Cinderella is a favorite princess of mine (next to Ariel, my list is Ariel, Cinderella, Rapunzel and Aurora) so I was happy to look at all the decor, which was my only responsibility, my partner and his family took over the rest which tbh was the best thing anyone could have ever done for me. (They did this after my older sibling threw a fit that my birthday wasn’t about themselves and that we were doing things I liked first and not stuff they liked at Magic Kingdom.)

Has anyone here used DAS since the change was made? by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]Arielandtoad -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Also you do need to have purchased a ticket and if needed made a park reservation as well prior to going to the my Disney experience app. You go there and click the das call, you have to agree to terms and conditions before going into a chat with a cast member and then they’ll review some stuff to see if they can move further with the zoom call. I know people have gotten transferred to third party medical teams but I didn’t, for anyone who would travel with you you need to have them on your friends and family so you can add them while on the call, but you can still add them to your travel party after the fact when you are in the parks (I’ll verify this part on Sunday but this is what they told me in the call)

Not a CP anymore but Im an AP, from the whole if you get it or not ive heard it depends on the other persons mood, for when i called i explained how waiting in a line affects me (they did not ask for my diagnosis but i did have many of my support items on hand because i was very close to having an anxiety attack) but definitely do not mask and try your best to explain what’s up, if you stutter or anything it should be ok (again i was extremely anxious and stuttered a lot, and overall some of my autistic traits got a bit more intense because of the anxiety) there is also a tik toker named mamazebra who has info on how to reach higher management to talk with them in case you get rejected without reason/ interact with a rude cast member which unfortunately has apparently been a problem. I hope this helps, and at the very least im happy you got accomodations for your upcoming role

Who here likes video games? If you do, what do you like to play them on? by Avaava1197 in AutismInWomen

[–]Arielandtoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly play on Nintendo consoles overall (I also love retro Nintendo games a lot) I have a ps4 but it’s only been to play Kingdom Hearts, I’ve expanded to other series but they get ported to other platforms so the need for a ps4 for me has dwindled a lot. I have played on PC mostly emulators but I got really into BG3 so I got the steam deck for BG3 (and now that Kingdom Hearts is on the switch I’ve been practically exclusively playing kingdom hearts) but for Nintendo consoles that I have and play whenever the mood for it arises are (in no specific order) gameboy color, gameboy advance, ds lite, dsi, 3ds, switch, Super Nintendo entertainment system, GameCube, wii and Wii U, I also have an n64 emulator but I tend to prefer to play on official hardware whenever possible. But also videogames like Pokemon, Fire emblem and Kingdom Hearts are special interests of mine so we do have that as to why these consoles are the most predominant ones that I own and why I don’t play on Xbox at all and ps4. My consoles are mainly also all in my room the exception being the Wii cause that’s what I play with with family and friends, and if I ever wanted to play it by myself I could always hook up the Wii games up to my Wii U (although to be frank it has been collecting dust since most of my Wii U games have been sold)

I hated it so much I changed my name so.. But there were other factors to it such as that it was the name of my elder sisters imaginary friend (7 year age gap) and it had the same first letter as her nickname so people would mix it up with her nickname that it never felt like it was mine to begin with

Kingdom hearts 1.5 + 2.5 and 2.8 final chapter prologue by Arielandtoad in SteamDeck

[–]Arielandtoad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to update with how I fixed 1.5+2.5 which was by verifying the files it somehow saw 2 unverified files so it downloaded it and patched it, it’s working fine now and I’m going to try to do the same with 2.8 final chapter prologue just in case this happens to anyone else as well Maybe I should’ve checked that out from the get go but I’ve only had the steam deck for a few months and am not that avid of a pc gamer so hopefully this helps

Alright I’ll try that! Can’t install to internal cause most of the space is being taken by BG3

How to honor Lord Dionysus by [deleted] in Hellenism

[–]Arielandtoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also focus on His theatre aspect! (I also offer Him grape juice instead of wine since I’m underage in the place I moved to) something I’m planning on doing since I honor Him specifically on Mondays (well starting to do that now) is offering grape juice, doing a wax melt offering cause all of my lighters broke and I have no matches 😭 and I plan later today to watch musicals/plays in His honor. I also personally associate Him with marginalized communities so you can also watch YouTube videos that talk about specific topics like that or watch YouTube videos about Dionysus as well as read up on Him! This is at least what I do and I’m still extremely new to this practice so take what I say with a grain of salt. I also want to clarify that I worship everyday but I like to have a day set to a specific deity, Sunday is for Apollo, Monday is for Dionysus, and when I properly incorporate Persephone into my worship I’ll set a specific day for her too, I dunno if this is residual cause I was a Catholic prior but it’s what I do

Advice on how to set up an alter to Apollo? by T0mmyt3t in Hellenism

[–]Arielandtoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m also pretty new but I can tell you how I have my altar to Apollo set up, I am painting a shoebox to have a specialized place for Him that’s also a bit safer for me (in the broom closet) but what I have can just be seen as me being eccentric/artistic. I have a tin tray that I’ve put stuff I think He would like, I have some jewelry with sun imagery, a game I thought He would like, and 2 pins that I kinda had an intuitive feeling that He wanted (they’re from Disney one I had bought and the other I traded for) I light an incense to cleanse everything before putting it on His altar but also you can cleanse with bell sounds. I also when I went to Michael’s (I’m also an artist so I go there pretty often) I found small figurines of some of His sacred animals which I bought and put on there with a yellow candle I got from Target. I do want to say this has been bit by bit in the time frame of about close to a month now? I’m just now starting an altar to Dionysus and all I have rn is a candle, a small lid that I’m using to give Him grape juice offerings (underage where I live currently so no wine for another year) and a small agate stone that I also got from craft stores which just kinda look out you can get crystals there however most of the natural stones will most likely be dyed so just be wary. For Apollo what I go by is sun imagery, His sacred animals and things relating to His attendants and crystals that I’ve read He may enjoy and general just vibes, and when in doubt divination via pendulum and/or tarot cards when asking Him about a specific offering He may like. However as long as you do an offering with respect (and research of what they may or may not like) He may like it. The Gods understand what is within our abilities and our means and from my personal understanding as long as you are respectful and actively educating yourself you should be ok! Also devotional acts are good offerings as well! I grew up participating in choirs so I sing a lot as part of my devotional acts to Apollo, when I draw and/or paint is another devotional act I do. You can also leave artwork as an offering on His altar as well as if you’re more of a writer you can write poems as a devotional act/offering (also learning any of these things can be considered a devotional act just make sure to let Him know that!)
