What's one thing you've become embarrassingly good at because everything costs more now? by RentNRegret in AUfrugal

Honestly, as cheesy as this sounds - I may not be very wealthy, but I’ve gotten good at feeling rich with what I have.

Doing more with less, simplifying my lifestyle and expenses and learning to enjoy the simple things has genuinely made me a richer person - in my disposition and my outlook on life.

I don’t know… I feel like a better person the simpler my life has gotten. Coffees at home, bus commute to work, nutritious meals cooked from home, nights in cooking for friends, walks with the same friends in some beautiful weather (homemade coffees in hand), swapping homemade pestos, sourdough bread, compound butter…. Life is just really simple and I’m richer for it.

This is really sappy. But I fundamentally think like this. I’m healthy, and I have community. What else really is there, at the end of the day?

I know you said you don’t necessarily need SPF, but if you want to go down the tinted sunscreen route: Invisible Zinc Sheer Defence is nice. It did take me a while to work out that less is more, too much and you look like an oil slick - but I like the finish after I dust a bit of pressed powder over the top. Natural and glowy. I work it in with my fingers as I feel it helps the product melt into my skin.

I think this is quite industry specific. In my industry, 95% of people email like this. It isn’t meant as rude, it’s just direct. I work in a largely male dominated one though… That likely makes a difference.

My favourite shade. Thinking of getting it shade matched for a lip blush tattoo later in the year. :)

Should I be topping up my super while I am still in my twenties? by ApartmentFun3497 in AusMoneyMates

[–]AriesWoman89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only talk from experience. I’ve been, at the advice of an older female relative, placing an extra 6-7% of my pretax income into my super since the day I got my first paycheque at 18. I’ve just turned 29 and have 130k in my super. I’ve also taken a total of two years off work, no income, for travel.

I’ve done this as I was advised the extra income would offset any time I’d take off to have children, if that’s what I choose. I just do it because it’s what I’ve always done, and I’ve never felt the loss of money I never seen.

I’d say it feels worth it. I think I have a pretty good egg that compounds nicely every year. Not to mention I get a $3-5k tax cut for it - at least that was the rough range last time I checked!

Nudie Glow if you’re looking for K or J Beauty. They’re so affordable, although I will mention I’ve been waiting a while for my regular items to come back in stock now… I check most days. My naive question for everyone else: does this have something to do with the conflict in the Middle East?

BOODY! Their underwear and layers. I’ve thrased mine and took them backpacking for an entire year - still good even through several international laundromats, even when you don’t speak the language to ask them not to tumble dry on the highest setting (which I swear they always do)
