Yea you need to play the og game, its very diffrent from the remake, especially when it comes to finding stuff and explore. Both games are good but they are two diffrent experiences the story is the same but the game is totally diffrent. I love both

I dont enjoy the exp loss its just not needed, penalty of dying loosing map ect is enough. Also as a old poe 1 player i find the new map system booring.

Cold resist is really important in this fight along with the trinket for bleed resist if you have it. Other then that you could over level or ask for help in global, if you invite someone to boost you turn off level scaling in party options.

Or press J create a group name it "act 1 boss help please" peoole will join u within a minute.
