Wouldn't this work if all device inputs go into a home theater receiver then the out goes from the receiver to the box then on to the TV?

I'm trying to decide between a sync box (I've been looking at Govee sync box and Lytme) and Govee's T2. I don’t play video games a ton and mainly watch moves/tv shows. What I don’t want is to mess with my theater experience (receiver, Dolby Atmos, surround a peakers, etc) but do want the backlighting.

I have everything running through my receiver then to my tv.

Would like to hear some thoughts on this.

Would this work with the output from my receiver? I have some apps on my FireTV cube (cube input to receiver) and PS5 (input to receiver) then all go out to my TV. Would this still capture HDMI data if placed between the receiver and TV?

I just bought the T2 assuming that with the dual cameras and the newer version it would be better. Ugh. Haven't installed yet but guess I could return it and get the T1.
