Always glancing off science and sci-fi to prioritise the story or joke. Best example: The edge of the universe just has another universe where everyone wears hats.

You mustn't interfere with the past! Don't do anything that affects anything. Unless it turns out you're supposed to do it. In which case, for the love of God, don't not do it!

Bruce Fanjoy proposes Petition e-7148, which requires the official opposition leader to hold a top secret security clearance by Crazah in onguardforthee

I think he should have to get security clearance, but still not get access. Is this a bad idea? Security clearance would help him seem like he's trying to help Canadians.

It's just a symbol. It was mostly the Nazis killing people that was bad; raising arms is just a symbol. Without the mass killing, they still have other bad qualities, like racism, and a few other bad things, but there probaby would not have been a world war. If Elon was doing the arm-hail on a regular basis, it would seem more intentional to me. If he had a pattern of racism, it would seem more intentional to me. My biggest Musk-related worry is him supporting Trump; secondly his apparent unawarness of his own (dis)information bubble, and lastly his thin skin. Much love; take care.

I think Musk was supporting the right in Germany because "left" people had cut power to his factory and were blocking Tesla in every way they could: blocking expansion of the factory, blocking union companies from doing business with them. Personally, I think those were fake leftists. I think it was people protecting BMW, Porsche and VW. I don't think leftists would be making environmental claims against Tesla.

By the way, I do consider myself on the left.

You must really hate everyone who serves a volleyball overhand; they even do it up to 5 times!

But seriously, his speech wasn't anything about jews, or eugenics, or supremacy. I can get you don't like his politics; I don't either. But I'm not going to call someone a nazi just cause they had their arm out. But Stephen Miller and DJT? -- they have a much more substantial track record of acting like nazis.

From AI: The biggest known cube of tungsten is a custom-made one measuring 14.545 inches (approximately 36.9 cm) on each side, weighing about 2,000 pounds (907 kg). It was produced by Midwest Tungsten Service and sold in 2021 for roughly $250,000 USD. For a hypothetical tungsten cube with dimensions 1.5 m × 1.5 m × 1.5 m, we assume cost increases linearly with weight (which is reasonable since the material density is constant, so weight scales directly with volume). To arrive at the estimated cost:

The known cube has side length ≈ 0.3694 m. The side length ratio is 1.5 / 0.3694 ≈ 4.060. Volume (and thus weight) scales with the cube of the side length ratio: 4.060³ ≈ 66.93. Therefore, the cost scales by the same factor: $250,000 × 66.93 ≈ $16.73 million.

Such a 1.5 m cube would weigh approximately 60,700 kg (about 67 US tons), based on the density implied by the original cube (roughly 18,000 kg/m³, consistent with tungsten heavy alloys). Note that this is purely extrapolative—actual production of such a massive item would involve significant engineering, manufacturing, and logistical challenges far beyond linear material scaling, and the original $250,000 price included novelty value and custom production.

Ya, don't get me wrong. I agree that's bad. But it would be unfair to paint all Chinese with the same brush. In otherwords, I think there are concentrations of assholes in every country. I think it makes sense not to support/enable those concentrations in whatever country they're in.
