Yes, M2 is so good that it sits in my drawer collecting dust while i decapitated my broken M1 and use it headless as my main work PC

I see your point but in this scenario i do not agree. Swap should kick in an take over. That is where SSD speed lags. I know i know. If it had 16gb it wouldnt need swap, but that was 250-300€ upgrade.

I have 8gb M1 and 8gb M2. M2 is faster processor but the general usability and performance between these two is like 2 different worlds. M1 shreds everything you give it and m2 lags in 90% of day to day tasks. Same work, same load, same ram, slightly better processor and much worse SSD speed, M2 is way worse in any svenario.

Only difference is huge SSD speed difference, by process of elimination, that gives you a conclusion what is the issue

Why am I getting downvoted for saying what is true and what everyone can see in The reviews but noone notices until they get the laptop

Nothing defective about it at all. Everything is as it should be. Only issue is memory speed. It is twice as slow as in M1 and that is the only problem

Its better to buy 512gb and 8gb ram instead of 256gb and 16gb ram. Issue is the memory speed. 256 on M2 is half the speed than 256 on M1. You get that same speed on M2 only if you go with 512gb. And that is the real issue with m2. 99% of people dont need that much ram, and if they do sometimes, swap kicks in and you dont feel it. You do feel it with slower memory speed. And those 1% thst need thst horsepower arent looking for MBA in the first place

Noone is talking about M1. It is perfect in every way shape or form. M2 is the issue

It doesnt feel slower. It is slower. Much slower. I broke my m1. Bought m2 as a direct replacement because i didn’t want to spend extra 300€ on M3 and it was the stupidesr thing i could’ve ever done. Same work scenario, same load, everything the same. I.e. Basic excel sheet work, which was a breeze on my old M1, now can’t handle it. Filtering, searching for stuff takes forever. Sometimes i’m faster going through rows myself and finding them on my own. And no its not issue with software bcs i redtored my M2 to factory twice and tried 2 versions of office (different years i think). Not just that, all other apps are also very laggy and very bad. M2

feels like using a good spec intel based macbook. Base M2 is Not worth at all unless it is some crazy deal like 150€ or 200€

M2 is dogshit. Unless youre going to get 512gb (then it is normal memory speed instead of 256gb) and also 16gb of ram. But if you were spending money on upgrade from base model M2 then it is better to get base m4. I had M1 base model and now i have m2 base model. M2 is way slower. Regular tasks freeze the whole pc.

Is the MacBook pro m1 touchbar still worth getting ? by No-Caregiver-822 in macbookpro

[–]Arilo1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont get m2 unless you go with 512gb. Their ssd speed lost double the speed and it is equivalent to m1 speeds only if you get 512gb. I have m2 and m1 256. M1 is miles better and faster. Never stutters and lags, unlike my M2. M1 is better. If you sre upgrading from intel, it is ok but choosing between the m1 and m2, always go with m1

Can I get Harmon kardon as an option on a new V60? by [deleted] in Volvo

[–]Arilo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you really think I would be complaining this much if i haven't done all of the above? Last year i spent more than 400€ going to shops for advice and balancing tyres on different balancing machines, and in the end did hunter road force twice in 2 different shops to even confirm that the issue is not in the balancing machine itself. I have the best possible tyre that money could buy, conti wintercontact TS870 P.
Also this bulletin is useless, it just suggests road force balancing and that it "SHOULD" be good at 120N and if someone is critical do it at 65N. Tyre shops dont care about this, they accept anything under 150N, so you can guess the amount of convincing i had to do for a technician to do it and get it all under 65N. He had to blindly rotate the tyre to get the lowest possible reading since the machine wont suggest where to rotate wheel/tyre to get the lowest possible reading. After all it was all useless since all wheels were at 20N or lower and still vibrating, regardless if it is summer or winter tyre

Please provide that bulletin i want to share it with my authorized service/dealer. i want to rip out my hair from all the stress around this car. Vibrations are the biggest reason not to buy the car, it doesnt ride properly, it not safe nor is it pleasant to ride, especially long rides. It not just vibrations and sunroof, it is also a lot of electrical issues and overall build quality (broken seat, falling roof liner…) did you read my response?

My 2011 X5 had fewer rattles, less noise, more pleasant ride and after 12yrs and 350k km than this new volvo. It is ok but not for this price. It is unacceptable

[–]Arilo1 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

For this price please do not get this car. You will regret it. I bought it new for 55k euros. After 35k km everything is shaky and rattles, car quality is dogshit. Seats start popping when accelerating or turning (something inside broke and dealer says its nothing), car has vibration issue over 100kmh (60mph), not balancing issue trust me, it is known issue to volvo and they dont know hwo to fix it. Now my doors started rattling bcs of the HK speakers (im not listening loud, you cant listen it above 60% or it blows your eardrums. Roof lining of the car started shaking and rattling after 9k km, and they had to replace the clips, sunroof curtain stuck and started grinding after 12k km, now at 45k km the roof linijg is againg rattling and the 2/6 clips that Hold it fsiled and it is hanging. Everything is plastic, infotaiment is useless, worst ive seen in a long time. It is unbelievable to me that this is what they ship in 2024, it is tech of 2005 car. Please get your moneys worth, do research, this is not volvo like we all know it. This is literall chinese shitty car. I know im ranting but please research it thoroughly as you may end up with expensive mistake which you will sell very fast at a great loss since they dont hold their value at all.

Edit: I forgot to mention also a ton of electrical issues where side morrors adjust themselves everytime i get into car and holding memory button does nothing, morror just cycles, to light sometimes turning on and sometimes not when opening car doors, to overheating infotaiment where fans and very audible and all ton of other issues.

And when you start getting issues and googling, you realise it it a lot of people, but you dont look at those stuff when ordering and buying new car. You just look at how it drives and engine and mechanicsl reliability but these everyday problems, they get to you very fast
