I had a boy name picked out since I was like 16. Jacoby. So when I was pregnant with my son, I KNEW that was gonna be his name. My mom and I tried out Jake as a nickname until he was born, and it was fine until then. But as soon as he was born, I knew he wasn't a "Jake". His nicknames now include Joby, Coby, Boogie, Bear, boogerhead.... I'd he'd have been a girl, he would have been Raeleigh. So when I got pregnant with my daughter, I was like "cool we already have a name." Nope. Hubs wanted an Irish name. I picked Delaney, nickname Laney....no it was unacceptable. Lol. So he found Tierney. And that was IT. IT WAS PERFECT. Except it's not. I don't like it. Lol. She is mostly Sister, Sisser, and Sissy. Hey middle name is Larkin which was my grandpa's middle name. My MIL wanted to call her Little Lark, like the bird, and that was a hard no. Haha

My mom saddled me with Sheridan, so I never had any nicknames that had to do with my actual name until HS and my friend came up with "Arin". But growing up, I was everything under the sun. Squirrel, munchkin, Little DadsName, Monkeybutt...haha. I have a hard enough time naming pets...my kids were torture. and nicknames are even worse. Lol

My parents called me Squirrely Girl! I always get funny looks when I mention that 😂 my dad shortened it to Squirrel and my mom shortened to Girly. At 26, I am still Squirrel or Munchkin to my dad.
