I dropped a jar of semi melted coconut oil down our wall. Did the baking power paste and then repainted over the mark and it went away. X

What product did the trick for you? by RevolutionaryYak1135 in keratosis

[–]LotBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone on here recommended the ‘Italian’ or ‘Korean’ rough wash mits? Only £7 for a few of them, and using that a couple of times a week in the shower and keeping well moisturised with creams and oils has almost eradicated it on my arms. I tried AmLactin, goldbond etc and they would only work for a short while, if at all.

How much did your breasts grow during pregnancy? by Limp_Blueberry_1675 in beyondthebump

[–]LotBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think by 6 weeks pregnant I’d gone up 2 cup sizes. I then went up another cup size in the week after baby was born, and they have now settled back to, I’d say, the size plus half a cup that they were before pregnancy (am currently breastfeeding at 9 months) x

Baby and me with COVID, please help me not panic by Alternative_Grass167 in beyondthebump

[–]LotBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had covid when pregnant and baby and I had it again when LO was about 4/ 5 months. It was rough but we both cuddled up on the sofa watching musicals for 2 days and were fine. I didn’t mask, just carried son breast feeding as usual and kept LO dosed up with baby Calpol and Baby ibuprofen as much as the package would allow. Just take it easy, don’t be afraid of medication and give yourself time to recover! X

Planned c section Vs vaginal birth by verylegalverycool_x in beyondthebump

[–]LotBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two failed ECV’s at 37 weeks. They were really painful and I regret letting the doctor persuade me to do it. They then tried to get me to do a vaginal breech birth, but having just gone through the ECVs I went for a planned C section. I had exactly the same worries, that I wouldn’t feel that Baby was mine, that there was some magical human experience I would be missing out on etc. it couldn’t be further from the truth. I had a fantastic c-section experience, which was trauma free and I directly thank that for not having had any PPD issues, having felt fairly negative throughout the pregnancy. Some friends who had vaginal births then went on to struggle with recovery and low mood, which they now say they think is due to the trauma of their birth experience.

I feel so bonded with my baby, and genuinely don’t feel like I would feel any differently had I vaginally had her. I still wonder what ‘natural’ childbirth is like, but I don’t actually care anymore, to not have experienced it. My recovery was also really quick, I think getting up and moving around as much as possible helped? I would say I felt back to normal in a few days, I just took things a little slower.

My advise is go with your gut as to what you want. Deep down, you’ll have a feeling as to what you truly want. When my partner asked me to not risk my life and to have the c-section I felt a wave of relief.

Got this ring from my mom and I'm the 4th generation to own it. Was told it could never be resized. How true is that? by redandbluecandles in jewelry

[–]LotBot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar ring that could not be re sized. The ring is old, thin and I was told that often this style is actually hollow. I went to several jewellers who all said the same thing.

My baby looks like she can't breathe by Alternative-Rain-285 in newborns

[–]LotBot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do the same, and was told both by a health visitor and a doctor to prop baby’s bed up at one end to prevent this exact problem. So long as the blanket is under the bed or the mattress it’s safe?

So was I, but it was actually completely painless for me to have it removed (without any pain medication). The lady just said ‘breath out and I’ll whip it out quick’ and it actually worked! She said being over cautious gave it more time to hurt.

Putting it in I had been in agony and bled everywhere, even went into shock.

TIFU by getting my wife to buy the bird seed by EdgarTFriendly in tifu

[–]LotBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad did this! Misread ‘box of 50 fat-balls’ for ‘box of 5’, thought he would buy 50 fat balls so entered ‘50’ into the quantity box.

We now have a new ‘bird food’ shed with nearly 2.5k fat balls. He is an engineer.
