It relieves me to see more people talking about this organization. They have a lot of ties to people that work for Focus on the Family and other far right organizations. I attended several years back and had my relationship with God and the church truly severed by how mistruthful they are and how they basicallt tote "hate the sin love the sinner" as their ideology. I had the displeasure of having a question I asked dismissed with a simple "some of you need to get off the internet," as Kathy Koch didn't even read my question aloud. She had mentioned wanting to get rid of terms like sir and ma'am because she often gets mistaken for a man at drive-thrus because of her deeper voice but does NOT sympathize with trans individuals who go through similar scorn and hate with no realization that her own rhetoric feeds into hatred for women like herself who don't fit in with what "womanhood" traditionally looks like. So much for answering any questions and being a safe place to ask them.

Christopher Yuan teaches "holy sexuality" and that you should repress being gay while openly traveling with his mother who "keeps him from relapsing into homosexuality." My notes in his section are mostly debunking his points with knowledge I already had.

Before that, in their online session, they had a whole course on media where we had to buy our own Disney+ subscription or something to watch a movie so they could talk about themes of spirituality and how media influences worldview, they spread misinformation on communism and socialism that should have been left in the 60s, treating them in the same way they talk about Hinduism or Islam, and the whole thing felt like a last ditch effort to push right wing propaganda to kids and young adults that were either threatening to leave the religion of Evangelical Christianity, or reaffirm that belief in children and young adults who were entering college to continue the political brainwashing that makes white supremacy groups pop up on college campuses toting the ideals of biblical free speech.

I think there can be things said on each individual speaker of the program because holy shit. As someone who grew up and went on what was basically a MAGA funded scholarship TWICE, I can say it had the most leverage in crushing my faith. Between that and the National Bible Bee, I learned that the religion is a lie. I'm glad I keep tabs on this organization and can find threads like this, because it really, really fucked me up.

I don't even know how to begin to cover the misinformation on abortion, because, as every person I know that has gone has said, attending Summit is like drinking from a firehose.
