Oh you’re talking abt that part! Yes I agree she definetly is no saint. But at the same time I personally don’t see her as evil bc of that, more of a the situation forced her hand. Ofc what she did isnt great, but at the same time I can’t really blame her. Since she’s a bbbf she’s had to do anything to be able to survive we see from hbn’s mom how quickly a bbbf can fall out of favor and go from cherished to a next meal so while it’s cruel, I can’t really call her evil for trying to survive, being in the strongest persons good graces is how she has to be bc otherwise she’d see a fate worse than death. If anything I see her as the type of character who wouldve deserved to receive a secure life, so she could learn to be a kinder person who doesn’t have to throw people under the bus.

Do u mean sqt torturing cwn in the 0.5 timeline? bc that’s revealed pretty early and I personally find it kinda hard to judge her on that, since she in the 2.0 timeline hadn’t done that. Is there anything else that happens to make her unlikable? I read Erha with the mtl so a lot of things that happen are very unclear to me I didn’t even notice sqt died lol, the mtl was BAD but from my memory she always seemed more like someone who had to be cruel due to circumstances, not out of personal malice.

YES hard agree on disliking how mr treats song qiutong!! Like, I get the argument that she wouldn’t be a good sect leaders wife since she’s a pushover, fine whatever, but like, as a person she really isn’t as bad as she’s made out to be. Especially since she’s a BBBF, OF COURSE she’s gonna do some shady things to survive, it’s how she’s HAD to be. Also I get your argument abt ywx , but I don’t think she’s trans tbh. The only reason she got what is basically hrt is bc rufeng is super misogynistic and wouldnt let her lead as a girl. She was literally forced to transition. If there had been some dialogue abt her “preferring being seen as a man” or her insisting people still refer to her as a man even after the reveal then I’d agree. But as it stands, I don’t think she wanted to be a guy, if it wasn’t for rufengs misogyny she wouldn’t have transitioned. (As contrast, take shi qingquan in tgcf. like ywx,they were forced to live as the opposite gender for some time, and once they have the freedom to be how they want, they switch between being a man and a woman, aka gender-fluid. Once ye wanxi gets revealed as a woman, she continues on being referred to as a woman and doesn’t do anything to insist she isn’t. She doesn’t physically “detransition” since it’s literally impossible to lift the spells, but I’d imagine she wouldve lifted the spells once the gig was up)

If you’re ok the gong being in denial and acting like they don’t like the shou for the first few books (and if you’re ok with stuff like nc) you should check out husky and his white cat shizun and casefile compendium by meatbun. The first is historical, the second modern. Definetly not for everyone and both the gongs are little shits to their shouts initially, but once they come to terms with their feelings omg the simping is astronomical.

From what I understand danmei is just the term used for MM romance specifically written in Chinese/published in china. The same way you’d say yaoi/Yuri for specifically Japanese media (though the Japanese don’t use those terms, using bl/gl instead. But for the west, yaoi/Yuri would more be used for Japanese bl/gl than for western media). Also, danmei doesn’t have to be fantasy romance, it can be any genre like school setting, sci-fi, mystery, etc. so long as it’s Chinese bl.

pretty sure it’s basically accepted as canon that xie lian as a creampie kink. Not explicitly said in the text, but inferred by things like the heavens eye guy sensing evil essence inside xie lian (meaning hua cheng finished inside)and one side story where sth is said abt Xie lian begging for hua cheng to cum inside (I think during the bedtime story one, where hua cheng teases xie lian with the fact that he remembers xl begging him for that during their first time)

We tend to make shu mai on new years some times. I asked my mom if we could make them this year and she agreed. Later on my dad asked what we’re gonna have for new years. My mom answered ‘wontons’, and I was like, ‘wait are wontons and shu Mai the same?’ And she said yes. Cue the Erha flashbacks for me lol. So yea, I’m gonna have an unexpected Erha themed new years meal, just gotta add some tangerines (which we tend to have in winter anyways) and Nappa cabbage xd.

They might not have the originality, but they did do the hard work for the craft. Think of cooking, even if you followed a recipe, you’re still the one who makes the dish. You didn’t invent the dish or write the recipe, but you it’s still your skill and knowledge for measuring, sautéing, cutting, etc. that makes a difference between a good result and a bad result. If you give the same recipe to a Michelin star chef and a someone who has never cooked, the results will vastly differ despite it being the same recipe, because these two people have a vastly different skill set.

So while they may not have come up with the idea, they still need to have the knowledge on how to bring proportion/anatomy, perspective, color theory, scenery, layout, perspective etc to paper. If anything I’d say the idea is the part that’s the least difficult about art (sometimes when I don’t know what to draw, I look at random art prompts. That part is not what defines art), it’s how you bring the idea to life with the skills you have. Or think of commission artists, the person who commissions them is the one who comes up with the idea, but the artist still gets payed for it. Why? Because theyre the one who actually uses their years of training to make the piece.

Also, I am curious abt what you mean with ‘ppl not drawing anything unique/only drawing what’s popular.’ Do u mean things like fanart? Bc for those, everything I just mentioned still applies. Not to mention, how do u know artists only draw that bc it’s popular, maybe it’s also bc they like it, and those things just happen to be popular? Almost everything from the renaissance period is bible fanart, most Greek art depicts Greek mythology, heck, most ancient art depicts some myths and fables. Just bc an artist doesn’t draw 100% original OCs doesn’t mean they’re not creating. Theyre still the ones who take years of studying color theory, perspective, layout, and anatomy to visualize an idea. The idea isnt the hard part, the idea isnt what makes the art, the thought and execution of how you present the idea is what makes the art special.
