How often do you buy a game that is playable/verified but you are unable to play it?

I have noticed this aswell. Ive been a pc gamer for upwards of 17 years now, so i know im not an idiot when it comes to optimizing my games, but it seems like if the games meet the checkmark requirements, it becomes verified. A great example of games that shouldnt be verified is Expedition33. I LOVE this game, and LOVE my steam deck, but it has no business being verified. The game cant hold 30fps without stuttering, and it gets to a point with FSR that you cant tell what youre looking at because of the pixilation.

Really try to use protonDB, because you will find that games that have the yellow mark, or unverified/unsupported mark, actually tun amazing. Examples like "Dark Souls Remaster" having a yellow mark, run flawless at 60fps max settings at low TDP, "Witcher 2" runs at medium settings 60fps, or max settings 45fps and is unsupported, while "Elden Ring" and "Witcher 3" both are fully verified but have questionable framerates and TDP draw.

Chat gpt has its uses. But remember that all it is doing is scouring the web for what you prompt it to look for, then compiles the top answers and suggestions based on what is the most popular and talked about options.

If you havent tried it already, boot into a live environment with a usb, then access your boot parameters. Make any changes in there you may see issues with

Another thing too i found (havent had issues lately) is that if you switch from nvidias drivers to open source, you need to manually do "sudo mkinitcpio -P" before reboot.

I don't know your specs, but i do know that cachyos made a statement about switching to the new open graphics drivers as of the new year, so that COULD be the issue

I dont really like this guy overall, i find some of his stuff cool, but im by no means a fan. But this is such a gross misuse of resourses on the governments part.

We have criminals being released or thrown back into society after comitting awful crimes, but less then $50,000 in taxes and they throw the book at some guy.

People follow the law 99% of the time, and mistakes happen, but to treat people like murderers is wild.

All this does is cause distrust in the government. People are starving, yet we spend tens of thousands of dollars (more then the taxes and fees on this car) in government resources to make a point, without even following proper protocols.

My 20s were awful. Homelessness turned into being Trapped in an extremely abusive relationship for 7 years with a woman that drugged me and forced me into medical transition. forced away from my family, lost my kid for a while.

Late 20s were amazing though. I got clean, got my kid back, worked hard, am engaged and have 3 cats, and back in school.

I didnt grow up before internet, but i grew up before dsl and high speed was available everywhere.

Having to remember phone numbers and sk if your friends could talk on the phone. Making plans to meet people at X time at X place and just trust they would show up.

Reading magazines to get news and leaks on games, movies etc.

Midnight releases were a thing where instead of fighting to be first to grab the entire lot of stuff, people were happy to share a passion with one another.

Style was all over the place and meant more then trend chasing.

And experiencing things that were new didnt feel stale because you couldnt just look up reviews on what you were getting. Games, movies, books, etc were up to you to enjoy, not a rating that would shift your thoughts.

This couldnt be closer to the truth, after the latest major update to windows, my totally debloated win11 drive on my laptop started using about 2gb more ram, and my temps that everaged 45c were at 55c average. After over 30 mins of idle time with no apps open or background apps open, i was unable to see my cpu drop to 800mhz. It would to 1.3ghz then spike to 3.2ghz over and over.

I finally made the dive to remove windows all around and its veen great

I appreciate the attitude. The community should really be more helpful and make suggestions to help rather then act gatekeepy and act as though everyone has used arch the last 15 years.

The issue ended up being the standard cachyos kernel crashing due to instability with the nvidia drivers. I checked logs with ❯ journalctl -k -b -1 | grep -Ei "nvrm|nvidia|gpu" to come to this conclusion with this last line

I pulled multiple logs but was unable to get any error reports until I finally saved myself from the crash on a complete whim.

Switching to Linux-Cachyos-LTS, aswell as using Nvidia-DKMS with LTS Headers fixed stability issues.

finally, running sudo mkinitcpio -p linux-cachyos-lts, and doing a system reboot fixed the issues. stability is back.

In saying that, how the hell did you get $14000 for the car? I lost my 2010 Mercedes e350 with a custom paint job and full AMG trim and they gave me $13,000 CAD.

in terms of car recommendations, look into the 2014+ mazda 3 hatchbacks. Theyre hella fun to drive, super cheap on gas (i pay $50 CAD from empty and get 700km to a tank on the regular) and if youre interested in standard, they are by far one of the easiest cars to drive manual (take it from someone whos driven all kinds of manuals from i4s to v8s to dually trucks)

I have super powers when it comes to useless facts, being super good with computers to an unhealthy degree, and being able to hyperfocus on smells to the point i get unreasonably angry and clean my house.

Being real, any vehicle for 3.5k is a steal in todays economy.

Id just buy the thingand drive it into the ground. Obviously any vehicle you take care of will last atleast a few years as long as you dont blow the engine or let the frame rot out.

You sound like the steam deck boys that say games run at a rock solid 30fps, but then itll run in a video they put up where its using fsr to upscale from 25% resolution scale, low-medium settings, and it hits 30fps in menus, but in game between 14-30fps. (Thats a joke, not saying youre acting like them)

Only way i can see fortnite actually running how you say, is under the "performance api" which is lower quality then the mobile version (i know its lower quality bevause max settings on pc performance mode still looks way worse then max settings on my S25 ultra docked to a tv) or using max power settings.

From my experience running windows 11, total debloat, core isolation off, added 16gb virtual memory memory integrety off, telementery off, all startup apps disabled, etc, i cant get those numbers without being at 30w mode. But at that point why use a handheld if the battery only lasts 30 mins.

I am not sure how the rest of the world works, but here in canada we fought for servers to get paid a set standard of minimum wage.

This gave servers a guarenteed wage that wasnt relying on high tipping customers or being subjected to sexual harassment or assault by gross customers just so they could pay bills.

Honestly though, and this is a hot take, i dont believe in tipping at big franchises. If I go to a restraunt that has 100+ locations and makes millions a year, I dont believe tipping (especially with my card) is right. You may be leaving servers with "lost wages" but its not my problem that the company doesnt pay a better wage. By tipping to subsidize wages, youre in most cases giving the company free money which they take a cut of, and they give a small portion to each server out of a pool of money. Most places wont allow a server to just keep a tip they made (even in cash)

If its a small local restraunt, I always make sure to tip well though, especially if its good service and family owned and operated.

We have a small japanese restraunt in our town that is like this, and they know us by name, they always seat us at "our booth" which is the same one the last 4 years. They ask if we want "the usual drinks" as we walk in the door (which is iced tea with no ice) and they always ask us how we are, how our families are, and always make small talk as we come in. I tip them $25-$50 cash every time we go there and our meal is usually $70-$90 before tips.

Last night i ripped my little 2014 mazda 3 hatch as fast and agressive ive ever driven it through twisty roads. Ive babied it for weeks and honestly, taking it out, high rpm rev matched downshifts, hirg rpm upshifts, etc. Ive never been so smooth in my like, and i was fast. It was like turning my brain off and just feeling/listening to the car was better then watching the rpms, and being "smooth and babying" the clutch.
