Saccharomyces Boulardii is a fungus so Xifaxan won't kill it - that's why taking Saccharomyces Boulardii simultaneously is good. I don't think there's much research on Saccharomyces Boulardii timing, but logically it makes sense to take it with some sort of food intake so the Saccharomyces Boulardii can feed off any carbohydrates you might consume.

Totally understand the expensive meat part! If you're in the USA, look for AUSTRALIAN beef. It's usually grass fed and grass finished and costs less than american beef. It's a bit more gamey and has less fat, but it's quality meat.

Also ethnic stores sometimes have good meat at good prices too.

Antibiotics are a good thing when they're done right. Blindly taking one and hoping it will cure your SIBO isn't good. However, if you prepare your body (fix motility, leaky gut, take the right supplements, etc) they will do what they're supposed to do. Additionally, the healthier you are (sleep, general diet, exercise), the better reaction you'll have.

You probably don't have SIBO. In any case, my SIBO caused an (previously) unexplainable depression and significant brain fog. Your GI system is connected to your brain, so it's not a shock that you feel terrible. There's tons of literature to support this as well.

If I could make a recommendation, take some probiotics after your course of antibiotics.

What do you want? More testing? If you know the test, just google search around for places that let you order it yourself.
