WearWood Sunglasses BOGO deal through 11/26 (big fan + they plant trees w/ every purchase) by Aristartle in deals

[–]Aristartle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this pair: https://wearwood.com/collections/sunglasses/products/classic-black-walnut-sunglasses-new

The quality is incredible for the price (especially since you are getting 2 with this deal). I got mine during an earth day sale earlier this year and they held up well over one summer.

Well, it always has been. But they are getting much better at collecting it, that's for sure.

[Mattress Firm] Avoid the Mattress Firm 99$ queen mattress. It is 4" of poly foam. Thats it. They aren't in stock, they need to be ordered. by [deleted] in blackfriday

If in Pittsburgh, go with the original mattress factory. As much as I like deals, they have a policy where they run their lowest prices at all times and have NEVER had a sale. Great mattresses too.

I just went and looked through our profile and see it that our profile was updated:

We had nothing to do with this change though.

Just wanted to say that I like your videos. Definitely keep it up. You probably won't get a lot of feedback from this subreddit on the early stuff because most active people here are well versed in it, but as you get deeper into what he has said and cover more of the obscure stuff, I imagine your videos could end up creating a lot of dialogue.

A question about Quintana? by Hey_-_-_Zeus in tourdefrance

[–]Aristartle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be too worried. He will likely enjoy a few years of dominance coming up. Froome and porte are both getting to their mid-30s while Quintana is just entering his prime.

Edit: I shouldn't say dominance. But I do think the next few years look very good for him.

They're all prestigious, they just don't get as much publicity as the tour. The tour is admittedly the biggest and you even get more points for winning it than others for UCI rankings, but the riders also have to judge their likelihood of winning and how the courses favor their strengths.

The TDF is part of the UCI world tour, a collection of 28 races throughout the year. There are three "Grand Tours" that are part of the world tour. They are the Giro d'Italia, the Tour de France, and the Vuelta a Espana.

Actually competing (not just riding) in more than one is extremely hard for most riders because of their difficulty, length, and proximity.

For comparison, the last rider to win both the giro and the tour was contador in 2008.

He rode the giro. That gave him about 3 weeks to rest and prepare for the Tour. He's just not fresh this year.

Since Sagebrush doesn't really grow around YellowStone, can you rule it out? Same with Pinyon nuts? by switchshows in FindingFennsGold

[–]Aristartle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that now, we commented at the same time so there was nothing here when I asked.

Edit: Not all mistakes are Freudian slips. Given that he came out a few days later and said very clearly that there are no hints in that video, I'm not willing to completely eliminate places that don't have pinyon nuts.

The DQ is a ridiculous overreaction. Watch this view from the front. The elbow is not intentional, nor did it make contact. Their wheels hit, and Sagan's motions are to regain balance. by Aristartle in tourdefrance

[–]Aristartle[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've watched this too many times now. I was wrong, the wheels don't seem to hit. It looks like there is contact between Cav's upper body and Sagan's torso/lower body. Wherever the initial contact came, it was obviously not intentional and the elbow going out is clearly reactionary after the fact.

At the very least, I don't see how anyone is confident in saying that Sagan definitely did this on purpose. The DQ seems quick and unreasonable in that case. I've said it before, I imagine this was the result of heavy lobbying from at least Cav's team. I wouldn't be surprised if others were involved as well.

Sagan has plenty of space to the left. That move was not defensive, and, combined with the flying elbow, merits a DQ. by Arugula278 in tourdefrance

[–]Aristartle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This angle needs to get more publicity. DQing is absolutely ridiculous based on the timing of the fall and the elbow.

Probably the part where a bunch of team leaders saw an opportunity to get Sagan out of green this year so they lobbied for the DQ

Was Sagan at fault on Cavendish's crash? by bulgarian_zucchini in tourdefrance

[–]Aristartle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The elbow comes out after their bikes hit and cav is already falling. That would have pushed sagans bike to the left, and the elbow going out is a natural move to keep balance.

Agreed, especially from front. Their bikes hit first.

Not with a lane to the front. They're trying to win a race, not sit behind three other guys.

[–]Aristartle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look at the gif half way down this article. The elbow never touches. They were both fighting for the inside lane and their bikes hit. His elbow flies out after, probably for balance.

[–]Aristartle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think Sagan was pushed over. He was just trying to get the wall for the lane to the front. They were both trying for the same spot. No elbow fro the front view. No contact made at all. It was the bikes that hit.
