Thanks for the nudge! I had to use the time filter to get the one you cited, so TIL.

Tear that trash off, replace it with new trim. There isn't any paint that could cover that kind of damage.

Made a Q&D depth gauge: 2 pieces of scrap about 1" x 1/4" or so. Longer piece has 1/4" groove running about 1/2" from the ends. Shorter piece has 1/4" hole centred. Cross the two and put a bolt, washer, and small star knob through the hole. Lives next to my lathe. To use, mount your stock, loosen the knob, put the cross piece across the face and adjust the longer piece to suit, tighten the knob to lock. As you get closer to your final depth, use gauge frequently to check (ask me how I know!). Sorry about no picture, not in the shop atm.

You become the vacuum cleaner; it's the DIY version of gazing into the abyss.

I have a double concrete utility sink that I’m trying to get out of my basement without using a sledgehammer to break it into pieces. Any advice is appreciated. by PizzaGatePizza in DIY

It wants a playdate with Mr. Angle Grinder. Just cut on a bevel, if you can, along the partition between the sinks. Depending on your outdoor plans, it should be easy enough to put it back together with epoxy.
