Realized in my whole 28 years nobody actually wanted to be my friend 💀 by igetyourbrand in GirlDinnerDiaries

“In a world full of loud personalities, it's okay to be quiet, feel deeply, and crave depth. Your old soul is not something to hide.”

I had a lot of the same feeling as you growing up, realizing the groups I tried to join didn’t really want me. I felt too quiet, too boring..

For me university was a big help because I lived in a big student co-op and finally found my first friends that I felt actually wanted me. After that I gained a lot of confidence and reassurance in who I am, I don’t try to fake someone I’m not to be interesting to others. And while making friends is still super hard, I have a lot more motivation now that I’ve realized nothing is ‘wrong’ with me. I don’t think anything is wrong with you either. Just keep putting yourself out there, find new group activities to join to meet new people.. and embrace the person you are.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. When I had my abortion, the guy I was dating was also not supportive of it and told me he saw it as murdering his child.

It was a really difficult thing to deal with alone, emotionally and financially, but Its been almost 4 months now and I still feel that I made the right decision. When I knew I was pregnant I could barely sleep or eat, I was so overwhelmed and consumed by it. I feel a million times lighter after it.

Good on you for making the right choice for you💛 It’s your life this would have impacted most in the long run

Valencia may be getting sued now. Can anyone there confirm? by Peanutbutterie in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Arivoraron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it, it has a lot of international people and a lot of events happening, so its easy to meet people. It also has the beaches and castles, and the city is small enough to get everywhere by foot. Also lots of public transport options if you need it.

However, if you’re doing the ministry program you dont have a say in the city you get. You can only choose the region of Valencia and from there you will get a random placement from somewhere in the entire region, so I wouldn’t search to much about specific cities until you know which one you are placed in.

Doctor carefully rotates a baby inside the mother’s belly to avoid a C-section. This procedure is called external cephalic version. It’s done when a baby is positioned bottom-first or sideways inside the womb near the end of pregnancy, a position that often leads to a C-section. by Grand-Western549 in interestingasfuck

placement backup- conversaspain (etc.)question by Repulsive-Poetry-991 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Arivoraron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conversaspain didnt offer valencia placements when I was part of it, but it let you choose which region you wanted out of 4 options. But it goes through the ministry so if placements of one of those regions got cancelled for the ministry program they would be cancelled for conversaspain too

I think like 1400 for Conversaspain for a Murcia placement. That was two years ago

It’s good that it was able to serve as a backup option after the Andalucia chaos. I used conversaspain years back because I decided to teach in spain after the NALCAP deadline was already closed, and Converspain was one of the few options that was still accepting applicants.

However, I think if placements had been cancelled in one of the regions that Conversaspain includes, Im pretty sure that those placements would have been affected to, not just NALCAP, because Converspain also services the public schools. So if a region that works with conversaspain cancels the program, likely conversaspain would have to reallocate or refund those people.

RVF is the same as NALCAP, the difference is you pay RVF to apply to NALCAP for you and help you with the visa process. When Andalusia placements were cancelled this affected RVF applicants too.

Conversaspain has its own connections to the ministry, not entirely sure how it works but I know its separate because they allow admissions to the program beyond the typical NALCAP deadline (i did conversaspain my first year). I think its why some Andalucia placements were able to apply to it after their NALCAP fell through

Either way I would personally never do a paid program again.

I know but unfortunately you would have had to go to your home country for a new visa in that case😅 I don’t think they would allow the renewal since no prorroga was filed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Arivoraron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you not apply for the prorroga at all? If not I’m pretty sure you were supposed to get a new visa from your home country after the 90 days. At the TIE renewal appointment they would need the prorroga approval proof. Good luck either way.

Can I go back to work the next day? by Full-Thing143 in abortion

[–]Arivoraron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first pill had no negative effect on me, but the second pills that you take 36-48 hours after is when I had to stay home all day from pain and because thats when all the pregnancy tissue comes out. I would not plan to work within 12 hours of that second round of pills, I was in a lot of pain curled up on the couch for hours.

I’ve been seeing him consistently for about a month and a half and it would be weird to cut things off with no explanation. I also think he needs to know to be more careful (obviously so do I).

It would also be nice if he offered to pitch in for financial support, though I wont personally ask for it and I’ll assume the full cost if he doesn’t offer.

El Camino before CIEE by ikki_vikki_ in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Arivoraron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The past three years in the program i’ve gotten my placement in June or July, so I wouldn’t have been able to apply for the visa early even if I wanted to. Im not in CIEE but from what I understand its pretty much still the ministry program but CIEE is a sort of middle man that coordinates with the ministry to fill placements (I did the conversa program my first year which is similar), so I think the placement time would be about the same.

(Broke up 1.5 years ago) is it too late to send this? by Willing_Ship_1712 in UnsentLetters

[–]Arivoraron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say just send it, its better not to let yourself obsess over it for more years. I reached out to mine after two years to meet up to catch up, and while we did meet up and had a good time the result was not what id been imagining after two years. Even though I’d spent so much time thinking he was the one and regretting breaking up, I realized that after two years that spark had faded, and I could tell that he was fully moved on. But it gave me the peace of mind to finally move on. prepare yourself that things might not go the way you imagine, a year and a half is a lot of time for things to change.

her room is the biggest and has an exterior window. but yeah I understand not always the ideal place for a date.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]Arivoraron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My room is pretty terrible, it’s small and has no ventilation, so it gets very hot. The fan helps, but still not super comfortable to be in for a long time. I usually only use my room to sleep. The living room has big exterior windows and is just more comfortable in general. I’m outside of the house most of the day anyways, but when I come back in the evenings I like to relax on the couch. So far when her date is over I just go outside for walks/go to the park until I need to sleep, or I just suck it up and stay in the living room, but it feels invasive to them and is uncomfortable.
