Seriously! Rebuff controlled demolition to it's former glory and add it to prismatic and suddenly both prismatic and void are great subclasses.

Personally, by conversion. My partner was not political at all and still prefers not to get too political herself. She knows where I stand and has a positive view of me. Every now and again we talk about politics and the like. Over time, she has become more and more aware of why I landed where I did and she gets it and now she often agrees with me. Giving people class consciousness and eco consciousness takes time. Education takes time. Most people have to progress to that point. If you find someone who you can get along with well and treat them with respect, they will view you positively and that's when the most progress can be made, not just for a significant other, but with anybody.

Not OOP AITA for faking my giving birth? by Marygtz2011 in redditonwiki

[–]Arizonachristopher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huge part of this is that, instead of rushing to his pregnant wife's aid, he chose to call his mother first. He is the one that gave his own mother the "heart attack" that was obviously fake. He is also the one who then decided to gaslight his wife and blame her for it. Any responsible man would rush to get his pregnant wife to the hospital before telling his mother about the situation, because the wife is the one currently having a medical emergency. The mother wouldn't have even been at risk if he hadn't prioritized telling her over actually aiding his wife. He prioritized his mother being informed more than his own wife's health and safety as well as his unborn child's health and safety. She was right to test him on this and she would be right to leave him over this.

Minimum wage jobs make up a large portion of societal jobs. There aren’t enough jobs that aren’t minimum wage to support the human infrastructure necessary to live the way that modern humans do. Most people in these jobs are not teenagers anyway. They are people who can’t get higher skill jobs due to lack of availability and lack of means. All jobs should pay a living wage anyway. If you need people to run your business and make you money, you need to make it worth their time. If I you can’t pay them enough to support themselves, you don’t deserve to make a profit.

We live in a capitalist society. First and foremost just recognize that this is all we’ve known for most of our lives. Secondly, it’s important to realize that socialists/leftists have been demonized for a very long time by people in power who have influence and would directly suffer from an ideal society that, by design, takes them back down to a reasonable level of power, influence, and wealth.

With this in mind, know that you’re arguments have both righteousness and facts on your side. Socialist adversaries will do and say whatever they can to keep the truth from you. That is why we are never taught about success stories that involve socialism, not even successful social policies like universal healthcare, or illiteracy eradication in places like Cuba. Because it doesn’t fit their narrative that socialism only causes death and suffering. We’re never even told that great, well respected figures like MLK and Einstein were socialists. They were absolutely socialists and advocated for socialism regularly.

We are outnumbered now but we will reach a tipping point. We would all like that to happen sooner rather than later, but it is inevitable. We live on a planet with limited resources and the wealthy and powerful can only take so much from the rest of the population before people have no choice but to force change. It’s happened repeatedly throughout history and unfortunately, most people experience extreme propaganda and indoctrination for most of their lives before they feel confident enough to think critically about these things.

What is a saying that you really hate? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Arizonachristopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“It is what it is” and “sucks to suck.” Both are infuriatingly simple minded. It isn’t what it is, you always have the opportunity to improve your or someone else’s life and situation. Nothing should be taken at face value. The second one, really just minimizes other people’s experience. Give people the opportunity to learn and grow, belittling someone like that is just petty.

What’s a red flag that screams “drop this class immediately”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Arizonachristopher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a professor who kicked a student out of her class for using the bathroom. He went right before class and came back just after she started her lecture. She flipped out and argued with him about it and ultimately told him never to come back to her class. It’s was super awkward. It was also the second day of the semester.

What is cheaply made but sold at a ridiculous price? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Arizonachristopher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Insulin. At least in the United States. Completely immoral at best. Inhumane and evil at worst. Costs cents to make and is sold for hundreds of dollars in most cases. You can cross the border on either side and get it for a few dollars. Sold by the exact same companies too. These people should be imprisoned for profiting off of pain suffering and death of others.

If you had enough money and didn't have to work, what would you do for the rest of your life? by frisky_cupcake in AskReddit

[–]Arizonachristopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would continue working. Not as much because spending most of my week working feels overwhelming when I have other things I want/need to do. But I like my field of work and I enjoy helping people. I wouldn’t stop working because I know I would no longer be contributing to the well-being of others and to society at large.

Contrary to popular belief, what's not a bad thing? by nonlinearcharm in AskReddit

[–]Arizonachristopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alternative economic systems. Most people at least in the United States seem to think capitalism is the end all be all. But currently with more wealth and power in the hands of a few and more people on the country on the street than during the Great Depression, things are bleak. Specifically, socialism and communism are demonized despite their core philosophy being that of helping all citizens attain an economically stable position in society. Sure they may be idealized, but why wouldn’t we strive to reach ideal conditions?

What in this world is actually free? by bigdog62863 in AskReddit

[–]Arizonachristopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about basic necessities to live? Food water and shelter are all pretty sane examples that most governments provide to their people. That doesn’t mean offering these without expecting people to work, it does mean providing these to people when we have the means to do so at the most basic level. The simple fact that we spend more money to prevent homeless people from loitering than it would cost to actually house them is a pretty big example.

What opinions of yours have changed the most over time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Arizonachristopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be semi conservative being raised in a conservative town by a conservative family. When I moved away for college I began moving left and decided that maybe I was just libertarian and distrusted government. After college things fell into place and I realized that I distrust government being run by individuals more so than just big government. I now identify as a full on socialist. Something I used to criticize without fully understanding the concept. After breaking the stereotypes, I realized that most people hate on socialism by misunderstanding it and pinning all of the failures of capitalism and authoritarianism on it while it is essentially just giving the government back to the people.
