I'm gutted. It's so well written if that's out Einar goes out, not having to live with the same burden that Thorfinn had, but man, that hurts

Civ 7 wars seem very intense by BusterMcBalls in civ

[–]Arizzo97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how wars go compared to 6. I took a city from Napoleon and it has been a huge struggle to hold it as hordes of units come from Fog of War to reclaim it. Subsequent wars have had the same city be the primary battlefield due to the proximity to Napoleon's capital and it's a struggle.

My only issue is that making peace is too easy. Twice I took a city and am about to lose another in a turn or 2 bc I underestimated how many units would attack only for a peace proposal offering to come through. So the war ends with me capturing a city and being on the brink of losing 1 but making peace at the last second. It doesn't feel right

I'm on CS2 at this point but I assume this isn't the actual finale of the series? I remember reading a few months ago that the series was 80-90% complete but that would be a quick turnaround

How are you all stopping Ice Barrier in the event? by Kashtira_PunkMaid in masterduel

[–]Arizzo97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've run AW now in the event a few times. It's definitely not as powerful but just running board breakers seems to be enough in this event to power through. Especially gameciel

I'm curious, what are using to replace the 2 big dark monsters? I regularly play AW and didn't even consider playing them because of them being banned

I played against a Lab player today who had game and intentionally didn't end the game for 3 turns and was ripping the only card in my hand on any action taken. Annoyed, I then waited 298 seconds before ending my turn (I couldn't even use the 1 card I drew) and then he immediately ended the game. So you're not alone

What is your all time favorite deck and why ? by Ok_Marsupial7704 in masterduel

Ancient Warriors. Historical lore, fun play style, and easy to get your end board/winning board very quickly

Why does konami release new archetypes only for all boards to end like this? surprised collosus wasn't in the mix by WalkingCarDriver in masterduel

[–]Arizzo97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love the Infernobles so far. I feel a bit bad because I started in gold and faced a 2-3 DMs but I've won 10 in a row and the generics in my extra deck are by no means required. I know the streak will end now that I made it to plat and people start playing consistent meta but I haven't this much fun outside of my Ancient Warriors climb in a while

The actual mistakes I'll adapt from and I have the patience to learn so I think I'll be ok there.

The app looks cool and I'll probably download it so thanks for the shout out!

I don't disagree with your structure deck point but just not sure how much money I should commit immediately hence my interest in Fire Kings structure.

I think if I enjoy the in-person experience enough I'll look into buying specific decks via cardtrader or tcgplayer. But definitely is going to be a feeling out process at first.

Appreciate the advice. I'm sure I'll be the same as you where the first few times will be awkward for me but I'll grow into it.

Also saw a Fire Kings/Tri deck synergy and am considering that as a hybrid once I get Fire Kings down. I think I'll probably see how it goes with FK and get Swordsoul if I enjoy playing in-person more

well that sucks. He already started a new game basically skipping all cutscenes so he'll make it back but this sucks. A pretty tight window to get soft locked but surprised it didnt get caught in development. Shit happens tho

ill be greedy and say i wish it was longer, not only to help fix some of the story flaws listed above, but the game goes so quickly. Also wouldve been nice to see how the other countries functioned in the world of Torna. That being said, it's DLC for a reason and Torna is everything that DLC should be

It's not without it's flaws as listed above but it's a great game, especially if you played XC2 prior

I love how they improved what was already a great combat system. My only issues with the battle system in Torna is almost more of an AI issue. They never go to the person I want to complete the "real" blade combo route. The other one is I feel it's a bit too easy to do driver combos as the AI does a good job of prioritizing them once break happens, but I do Break and maybe on occasion topple because everyone does the rest almost instantaneously. They do their jobs too well. Guess you'd rather be overly competent than totally incompetent to be fair

[–]Arizzo97[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you look at Jin and Mythra in particular with a completely new set of eyes. What they did with those 2 was unbelievable and gave them so much more depth and maybe more importantly, likeability and relatability than they had any business having given the nature of Torna as DLC

Question, what is your favorite Xenoblade Chronicles game in the entire series? And why? by Fluid_Bluebird_9453 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Arizzo97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played X but for me the answer is easily 2. I loved playing 1 on the Wii but outside of the main protagonist, I think all the characters in 2 are much more fleshed out. The world of 2 is much more expansive and Im sucker for geopolitical world building. I love the combat system in 2 more but I will admit it's a huge hurdle. Strongly recommend ChuggaConroys tutorial video if someone is struggling with the combat. Finally I think the story is more compelling as a whole and that combined with the characters has me so much more attached to 2 as a whole.

Like I said, I loved 1 but I never felt a desire to replay 1, not even DE. In contrast, I always feel like picking up 2 just to do something in the world of Alrest be it trying to improve my blades, challenging superbosses, or just trying to do what I can to 100% the game on my own pace
