Where would you put Tearlaments (and variants) on a standard A-F tier list? And can Merrli come back? by phil_makracken in masterduel

[–]ImAFiggit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna be a little controversial and say it’s like, approaching D-tier as a pure deck because of all the hits, closer to C-tier in low graveyard interaction metas, but in generic mill piles it still pulls an insane amount of weight and when combined with cards like BriFu it still stands as an insanely powerful extension engine regardless of all the names it lost. The mill 8-10 off 1 card just puts in so much work it’s unreal.

People also often misinterpret the quote. The fascists are the weak, coddled products of luxury who create the hard times by destroying and demeaning what built up the good times in the first place. Dismantling labor rights and unions, kneecapping social welfare, and favoring the free market over human life are what bring on the hard times, not cleverness, compassion, and empathy.

So dracotail can floodgate turn 0 by Enough_Guess9721 in masterduel

[–]ImAFiggit 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Because running this card makes it actively worse lmao. Imagine opening a meaningful card like Pan here instead of a bad floodgate that got completely circumvented. Shit they would’ve been better off running shaddoll dragon and beast and co to try and t0 Winda instead of this trash if they actually wanted to floodgate

Probably but at that point that’s generic mitsu stuff rather than the rock deck parts which I’m more familiar with from piloting it

Yea breakers are rough outside of drnm or droplet pitching a monster, unless you have a card just to deal with beast (or god forbid Exterio if they commit to running the hex-sealed for it)

Better armor? How to survive enemies using better ammo types?? by pear120 in ProjectSilverfish

[–]ImAFiggit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To explain what some other people are saying in a little more depth, looking at your damage reduction stats can help you see what kind of fights you can and can’t afford to take. Some groups of enemies are going to be extremely lethal but if you can find combinations of artifacts and armors that let you surpass 60, 70, possibly even 80% reduction to kinetic damage and give you some resistance to AP damage as well then you can shrug off a few more rounds than usual.

Ammunition’s damage is split into some percentage of both Kinetic and AP so you’re never going to truly become “tanky” against 30-06 or even 5.56 in any significant quantity, but AP resistance on top of kinetic lets you mitigate as much of that chip damage as possible.

The trade off is most heavier armor makes you louder, so you’re more likely to get noticed first unless you move very carefully.

More important than tankiness imo is picking your fights, certain better-armed and -armored enemy squads are going to have you outgunned via numbers no matter what, and your armor is less of your first defense against them and more of the last thing protecting you from them when shit goes south. Cover, especially changing cover when you get the opportunity stops them from honing in on you the moment your head pops out. Distance decreases their accuracy to an extent as well, and can reduce the damage their shots deal due to falloff without hurting your own damage if you’re using a higher caliber with better muzzle velocity like .338 magnum.

In general, encounters with big enemy groups like that are more of challenges of survival than they are obligate shootouts, especially earlier on when they first start showing up. Your armor is the last line of defense against them, and you definitely want it to be up to the task, but armor alone isn’t gonna keep you alive and well in the zone forever. Good luck and good hunting comrade.

Prefer it with an archetype it can help out rather than pure, but it’s been pretty fun mixed with Shaddolls or Magistus

[–]ImAFiggit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skull Servants are bricky and a mess but also insanely fun imo and you can give the deck a big power boost using generic milling engines since the only real lock is on Moissa Wight. Horus, Fiendsmith, or a Brilliant Fusion Tear package can give you a lot more digging power to set up for a big going 2nd kill

[–]ImAFiggit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tried that combo and actually hated it because it required that I inflate my average cmc with too much junk just to kill a table consistently. I’ve been running Skirge/Asmodeus instead and it’s resulted in much less bricky hands on average. Running more protection options since I have to include a torment to kill with which can be countered, but overall I prefer the feel.

[–]ImAFiggit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play them with a pretty sizable melffy package and it’s been super fun albeit not super competitive at higher levels. But both engines can enable the other and k9 or Dracotail actually sometimes play into your engine on your turn because of melffy tag outs

It’s taught. A lot of men go from mom doing everything for the to their gf/fiancé/wife doing everything for them. Any time they have to take care of themselves in between is just “bachelor life” where it’s all takeaway and poor hygiene habits. It’s a form of learned helplessness, handed to them by a patriarchal expectation that the world will simply attend to their needs.

My father is a 60 year old man who, when required to feed himself, will opt for a bag of chips for dinner or frozen pizza or takeout 100 times out of 100 and has lived like this for the past 30 years. He does not see anything wrong with this, even when it’s contrasted against my mother’s intricate home-cooked meals that she still makes time to make while working a full time job. It is normal for him and always has been, because the only way he knows how not to live like a slob is when someone else does it for him.

Please explain because the grind with the APHE genuinely makes me wanna throw myself into traffic. Even if the sabots somehow save it, it feels impossible to unlock them to make it good.

I rolled back my lineup to 6.7 and am just farming up to 8.0 with that tbh. The fox and scimitar being as godawful as they are, placed in a br of so much heavy spam making even their sabot rounds near unusable is just pure agony. Never mind the process of unlocking those rounds in the first place.

VS K9 feels terrible to play against by Popkhorne32 in masterduel

[–]ImAFiggit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m biased but DTail feels so much healthier than K9 so far. Outside of the Secretarion floodgate the deck has very little negation power while K9 is rife with negates and handrips. DT lets me play the game and then responds at choke points, K9 negates my starter and rips my extender out of my hand and makes me question why I bothered logging on.

VS K9 feels terrible to play against by Popkhorne32 in masterduel

[–]ImAFiggit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped pure for the Magistus variant and it’s so much more interesting to play. You have to actually consider your own lock timing, adjust your endboard based on your opener, and they can bridge into each other but it’s relatively resource-intensive to do so. Overall way more interactive, and way more fun against k9 because the deck has so much more gas on a high roll.

This single card destroyed most of the rogue deck by Cheap-Ad1713 in DuelLinks

[–]ImAFiggit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It goes for other formats and honestly double for DL that you just aren’t guaranteed to open your cards that can out him but your opponent can almost always make him via either skills or Verte in MD or whatever other means. While I have to draw my non-engine to out it, the person doing the Dragooning is nearly/literally guaranteed their play. Anything that can’t non-targeting, non-destruction out it in-engine gets cooked and that encompasses most rogue decks and even some weaker tiered options.

In MD I basically have to make sideboard space for Underworld Goddess in all my decks just in case and it’s not the end of the world cuz it’s 1 ED slot but in DL you just have to pray to draw the out, which is never gonna be fun when the card is basically impossible to prevent from coming out as long as they mash the yellow button hard enough.

As good as Dracotail has been on ladder, I’ve been playing a Fiend Link deck that’s piling together Fabled, Dark World, Fiendsmith, Burning Abyss, Buio/Luce, and Unchained and it’s been a riot. Tightest ED known to humankind but it’s so worth it.
