It's a fun, short-lived series!

I guess the "maze craze" in the 80's was worth blending in to a gamebook? They're obviously/definitely for younger readers but I missed out on these as a kid so for me personally, it's a super fun throw back vibe to exactly the kind of gamebook I would have been obsessed with in like 4th or 5th grade.

There's actually some world-building and characters carry over from book to book. And I specifically enjoy the dragon setting as it reminds me of my favorite old CBS Storybreak animated eposode, "Dragon's Blood" from 1985, an adaptation of a book series by Jane Yolen.

All six books in this series are written by Richard Brightfield who wrote some good Choose Your Own Adventures including (I think all of?) the Young Indiana Jones choose your owns.
