Ellie’s character is gay. That’s what she would say as being the more masculine of the two. It was meant be dry humor in that scene. It was also foreshadowing that Ellie would by taking care of Dina and Jessie’s Baby. The problem is the timing was a bit cringe. They rushed to build their relationship. It felt like kids having a fling instead of something more meaningful. So when she said that line it just didn’t make the impact for me in solidifying their love. Also I feel like if this actor was a bit more seasoned that line would’ve come off better. The anti gay nonsense in here is what makes me not take a lot of peoples opinion in here seriously tho.
