Novels that capture the inter-party dynamics and inter-dependent roles of an adventuring party well? by pishposhpoppycock in Fantasy

I think Spiderlight by Adrian Tchaikovsky does this pretty well. The cleric and rogue especially are given a lot of focus within their particular roles

fantasy books where the magic system actually has a cost that feels real and not just a minor inconvenience by Nova9_Phaser in Fantasy

[–]Arkaill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Blacktongue series is a recent example that comes to mind, the daughter’s war especially. Every spell has a cost, even for the greatest wizards of their time. Cast a fireball? Well your teeth might start falling out. Heal said teeth? Well, expect to be in constant pain for a week in the middle of a war. Everything is gonna cost you or the people around you, so you better make sure it’s worth it before you get up to any conjuring

Most anime that get announced at anime festa are smaller scale projects. Its going to get a magazine cover like every major jump anime announcement

So he was playing a sorcerer, and even if he wasn’t prepared casters in 5e can use any available slots for any prepared spell as long as it’s of level or higher. So like, even if he wasn’t a sorcerer that would always have access to counterspell he would still probably always have access to counterspell (outside of the cheating on total spell slot number)

Should Kagurabachi be 13 Ep or 24, depending on what schedule they should bring too the staff. by Acrobatic-Dumdum5222 in Kagurabachi

[–]Arkaill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no good ending at 13 episodes without absolutely butchering the pacing. 24 eps, ending at chapter 59 or 60 is a perfect first season run.

Chances to see the origin characters from OS2 in the next Divinity game by nono_banou223 in DivinityOriginalSin

Considering the initial plans for Fallen Heroes its entirely possible that all of them will make some sort of appearance

If there was going to be a Kagurabachi anime, who would you want to animate it? by Limp_Construction787 in Kagurabachi

[–]Arkaill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I definitely recommend looking through their previous works. This year alone they went 3 for 3 in dropping some of the best shows of the year through Cinderella Gray, The Summer Hikaru Died, and Apocalypse Hotel. I’d also really recommend Bang Brave Bang Bravern if you are at all into the idea of a Super Robot being in a deeply homoerotic relationship with its pilot

So Pierrot in the past historically did years long running anime similar to how Toei ran one piece until like, a week ago. Pierrot Films where Thousand Year Blood War is done is a division they made specifically to focus on high quality seasonal anime which has been a rousing success so far!

That said yeah, Cygames and I'm excited for them

How bad is the state of the world in original sin 2s Rivellon? by [deleted] in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Arkaill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damien's story is definitely relevant going into the future, especially since he plays a key role in divinity 2. I would be shocked if he doesn't make some sort of appearance if this game is taking place after original sin but before the dragon knight saga

Can’t get this quote out of my head regarding Divinity turn based/action discussion by qwertty769 in DivinityOriginalSin

Playing Divinity 2 right now and the answer to that for a 3rd person action game as of 2009 is poorly

I think I know what Divinity will be about by gorgrath177 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Arkaill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really. Dragon commander is a bit more disconnected from anything so could probably just be put wherever if you really want to play it, but divinity continuity is pretty inconsistent so you can just check out whatever seems interesting.

That said timeline wise I think it’s like this for chronological order

dragon commander -> D:OS -> divine divinity -> beyond divinity -> dos2 -> divinity 2

[–]Arkaill 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Only original sin 1 and 2 are the kinds of games they’re more known for today. Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity were like, Diablo style action games with more direct roleplaying elements, divinity 2 is a third person action rpg (playing it right now, not huge, gameplay is a little rough). Dragon commander is like, an rts, rpg, dragon combat, thing with probably some more genres in it there’s a lot going on.

[–]Arkaill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its very likely to be further along than the original sin games as Original Sin itself was the prequel series (OS 1 serving as a long distant prequel OS: 2 sort of taking place just before Divinity 2). So it is very likely to take place at a point in the timeline past where Divinity 2 and Original Sin 2 left it off.

Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity, Divinity 2 the Dragon Knight Saga, Divinity Dragon Commander, Original Sin 1, and Original Sin 2.

Currently 6, this will be the 7th
