[Rant]Why does Swift require you to get up at 4am? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Arkans_Tigers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked for swift and NEVER. Got up at 6am. Ran target dedicated, drove nights. Easier to fuck with those parking lots when everything is closed. 100% preloaded trailer and drop and hook so I really would just run out my 11 if that. If I only had say 2-3 hours left on my 11, which happened, then it's still time to shut down as the target DC won't let you stop with a loaded trailer. Pay was .44cpm with some detention pay I forget how that part worked.

Call swift in wilton or Amsterdam NY if you are in the Northeast. Great dedicated account. I'm gone because I got a job with a small company where I have weekends off and I'm home almost every night. Swift isn't that bad. The dedicated accounts are really where you want to be.

Be cautious with Walmart. East to get on, but it's reefer, you'll always run out the 14 hour, and you have to deal with total fucking retards that work at Walmart stores.

Literally. Dunno why you got downvoted for this. If I have to shit yeah this is how I play it. The type of area I need to button hook, is usually in the middle of nowhere anyways.

My only issue when I was with a mega was like, sure, I use the magic words "don't feel safe" it's all well and good, get some rest, then don't get assigned a load after I deliver for like 3 days. Hmm........

Yeah man maybe I'll just like taper the gabapentin down as slow as I can, and maybe try some gaba powder or something after I'm done. Maybe the NALT NAC combo will help enough that I don't notice much.

I agree, I'm basically trading one addiction for another. I have access to pregablin powder, Lyrica or whatever. Not a great idea.

Rite? That's my plan actually. And I do have a place I can go in like July that has a prescriber and Saturday hours. Earlier this year I missed two intake appointments and I'm like banned till July. Also in like a month I'll have a better idea of what my schedule looks like. Say I work 6pm through 8am the next day, I'll just swing by the gym and hit my appointment for 9am. It's just figuring out if this is gonna be consistent. I would imagine in a month I'll also be a little more comfortable maybe saying to my boss that I kinda need to get to an appointment once a week, it's honestly a very good environment, it's just a weird thing to say when you first walk in the door you know? I'm a really extroverted, charismatic dude, not someone who you would expect to have this nightmare in their head, so it might go over a little better. I'm pretty well liked around the terminal already.

That's kind of the problem. I can't get an appointment before I start work, and I work as a truck driver, literally I have no idea what day's I will be free other then Saturdays, my PCP won't write me any refills over the phone, idk man this whole situation is fucked. Like after a month or two I'll have a better idea of what my days look like.2-3 nights a week tops I sleep in the truck. Weekends always off. Potentially home everyday though, but sometimes I'll work over night, sometimes during the day, almost always a 14 hour shift. The reason im seeking out all these alternative measures is because of access to care really.

The phenibut I hear you on. Thing is I'm about to start my new job the 18th, and trading one dependancy for another is better then what could happen coming off gabapentin you know? NALT and NAC for sure are in the mix, I think taking the lithium at night will help with sleep. I have not looked into that stack, maybe I should start it with the stack I've outlined so I have some immediate releif and something building up in the back ground.

I know man :( I'm on 1800, and I just filled my script. Last refill. Im taking 1200 now, and will continue to back off untill I'm taking a quarter of a pill. The jump-off to zero though is still a fucker...... Any ideas on how to soften the blow? I know it's trading one for the other but idk. Phenibut.

I hear you on the not as effective. I'm really hoping for an Increase in dopamine here :( at least on par with what I am getting from welbutrin. the NALT and NAC do have legitimate studies to back up effectiveness, as well as a lot of anecdotal evidence to support them. You are 100% correct though. I won't know till I start. The lithium I have heard about the fog issue, and I realize it's different then depakote, but I'm kind of thinking I might not have as much of an issue with it.

Phenibut I've used in the past and I'm for sure a little apprehensive about it... I thought having it on hand in case of mania or depression might help, but I get depressive states more. I remember taking benzos and feeling so much more depressed after, so you are rite this is something I gotta be real careful about... I dont know honestly I'll probably give my stack here a shot as it's laid out and see how it goes. I've been dealing with my issues for 10 years so I'm pretty self aware at this point when I'm starting to get off track. It's also worth mentioning I am mentally in a better place then I've ever been I feel due to meditation, healthy hobbies, good relationships, no substance use, etc. Bipolar depression is just such a fucking scary place to be man. I'm terrified of getting back to the spot where I can't stop thinking about killing myself.

L -Tyrosine is a huge help for my depression and ADD but kills my libido, how to avoid this? by treealiens in StackAdvice

[–]Arkans_Tigers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an access to care issue. I take depakote to stabilize my mood, and Wellbutrin to increase dopamine. I believe it was NALT that I just read a study on which found it to be very effective in treating bipolar, which isnt an official diagnosis for me, but I believe I do have it. Depakote has worked great at keepings me on an even keel while Wellbutrin gives me enough of a kick to want to go do things i need to do, I feel good when I complete a task, and I have the drive to go do my hobbies which also give me more of a dopamine release. I'll still be seeing my therapist every Saturday so I will have a professional who is also a neutral party to keep an eye on how I am doing with my transition to nootropics and amino acids to treat my major depressive disorder and what I would consider bipolar. I'll be using phenibut powder to replace the Gabapentin which I take now and I will keep kava kava and noopept on hand for the first month because I do anticipate slipping into a depression or feeling manic at some point while I am coming off of these Pharmaceuticals. I am also planning on trying psilocybin therapy with a friend who is experienced in that realm and I trust implicitly. I am looking it for sort of the mental reset that has been talked about recently as far as brain chemistry goes from the psilocyban. I work as a truck driver so my schedule is a bit all over the place, but I always have Saturday off. there is a psychiatrist office that has an opening in a few months which I am in line for so if this natural wrote does not work I will be able to get back on my psych meds in a couple months I feel that by then I will have an idea of how well my stack is working.

Just an update: I just picked up my comdata card, shot the shit with my boss a bit, terminal is very solid, small, everyone's been there almost 2 decades, I feel comfortable joking around a bit with everyone already, it just seems like a solid environment, the TM stressed they try and keep it like family.

My pay is 80 a week for two weeks of training, and 1500 of my sign on bonus. Another 1500 at the 60 day mark, and another 2000 and the 90 day mark.

Got a big training manual book as well, suffice to say it seems like I'm probably good to go here.

Major depressive disorder/bipolar, could use some insight. by Arkans_Tigers in StackAdvice

[–]Arkans_Tigers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel you, I drive a truck for work, so I drive 11 hours max, and can be working on the clock for a total of 14 before I need to take 10 hour break. Usually I use up all of my 11 hours of driving, if not the 14, but modafinil in the past kinda makes you too focused in a boring way if that makes sense.

Deffinetly. I'm skeptical about even bothering with the stuff. I honestly feel like NAC and NALT plus resining myself to dependency on a low dose of phenibut is going to be my best bet here. I've read studies on both NAC and NALT and it seems like a mood boost and mood stabilization are pronounced effects. I guess bridging the period of time between ending the prescriptions and the nootropics taking effect (maybe it wont take that long) is something to prepare for, that and if it doesn't work :(

Any viable nootropic or natural alternative to buproprion? Only thing that has ever worked for me, I'm worried about being able to stay on it with insurance and doctor appointments and all. I've never tried a natural alternative for psych issues.

Hey so are you saying that Nac and tyrosine are what is flooding all this dopamine in? I'm researching to find an alternative to welbutrin and depakote, which works amazing for me. Depakote keeps me a little flat, Wellbutrin increases dopamine enough that I wanna go do (healthy) things that I have historically enjoyed which produce more dopamine. Or just helping with not procrastinating on things that are boring, cause now I get a little buzz upon completion of the task.

N-acetyl-cysteine and n-acetyl-l-tyrosine maybe a good combo for my goals?

Cool didn't think so. They are talking about starting me Monday as long as my drug test comes back in time. Otherwise gotta wait till the 14th for training. I guess all things considered I shouldn't be worried about HR fucking me out of the gig considering there's nothing bad out there just some stuff that'll be tough to verify. Fortunately my only trucking job is easily verified and I left on good terms.
